At 12:56 pm on 10-30-2013 I received a voicemail from "The Law Firm Of Legal Mediation"  "This is Jeff Green with the law firm of legal mediations this call is inteneded for Steven Huggins your name has come up in an ongoing investigation which you a currently facing charges in suffolk county therfore a statement from you or your retained attorney is needed prior to assurance of a warrant being issued. You can contact my office at 281-809-0094 my direct extension 722 when calling in refer to your active case number 416780 govern yourself accordingly.

I then called back at 1:58 pm was transfered twice after asking them what company this was.  I was finally told it is "Goldstein Associates" and we are calling you about a debt.

I was then transofered to a lady who ansered only as "Coleman".  She explained that i had comitted felony bank fraud by not paying an ACH decutuion to MyCash Now and closing my chev=cking acount.  They said that i had been sent letters regaeding this matter and I informed them that I had never received any letters from Mycash now or there comapny. I asked her if she could send me the information and she just kept saying the same thing as if she was reading from a scirpt "why didnt you pay them".  She asked me if she could take a statement from me or my attorney, before i could speak anymore the notice and beep came on that the call was now going to be recorded. I again asked her if she could send me the information and documentation with what this was about and that i did not want to be recorded.  She just kept saying over and over why didnt you pay them and i just kept saying "send me the ionformation".  Her last last words to me were "Yep sounds like a criminal" "Pick him up"  I didint understand what the last part "Pick him up meant"  But she had already ended the call without giving  me any further information or a chance to speak again.

I called right back and eventually got through to "Coleman" again.  I asked her now to repeat what she had said to me because i was now going to record the call for myself, she refused to talk anyfurther and ended the call by saying "you will know what this is about when the police come and get you"

If anyone can help with this situation or if they have broken any laws please let me know,  Thanks

It is a scam - don't send them any money.

Don't worry. The entire thing is a scam they are trying to pull on you. You can't be "picked up" for an unpaid debt. They apparently trying to make it sound like you have violated the law and are going to impose criminal penalities on you. The whole thing is a scam.

You can read about the this scam on the FTC website under the scam-alerts section. Or you can call your local police department and report these people. Be aware that none of the names are real for these scammers. They are trying to scare you into sending them a payment.

Even if you owe money to someone or the company they happen to mention, it isn't real. Don't send them any money. Don't talk to them any more, there is nothing they can do to you. If you do owe money to that particular company they mentioned, deal directly with the company and not with the scam artist trying to take funds from you with the phoney phone call they made this afternoon.
