Is Good Dog Rescue a Scam?
Good Dog Rescue approved us to adopt Abby after hours on a Tuesday and provided us its contract. First thing Wednesday morning, I responded, advised that some minor non-substantive terms of the contract violated NY law, such as the contract not having Good Dog Rescue's address and not providing that a licensed veterinarian would confirm Abby's health. Because I pointed out these issues, Good Dog Rescue canceled our adoption of Abby.
There are rampant complaints about Good Dog Rescue on the Better Business Bureau, Rip Off Report and elsewhere. The complaints range from bait and switch tactics (not delivering the promised dog), delivering sick dogs and other shady business conduct. A former Good Dog rescue foster mom posts to avoid them at all costs because they are bad news. An animal cruelty sheriff I know says they may be saving puppy mills from the euthanasia fee, not rescuing dogs.
There are several other indicators that this place is shady, such as only accepting payment via PayPal and not disclosing its address on its website, contract or other paper work.
After canceling our adoption of Abby, Good Dog rescue has not returned our telephone calls or emails. Most scam artists run and hide when caught.
