Goodyear Auto Service Repair Outrageous Estimate for Brake Job Gretna Louisiana

I went in the other day to get a quote for brake maintanence for my car and I was shocked at the proposed amount that they wanted to charge me for changing the rotors and brake pads for the front tires. They wanted to charge me over $350 for a car that is over 15 years old. I politely told them 'no thank you' and asked for the estimate in writing. Later that evening I decided to review the estimate and was looking at all the parts that was listed and there prices. I decided to "google search" the part numbers and see if these prices were reasonable. To my surprise they were no where near the price range from any store that sold them. The part numbers were from Napa Auto Parts, and compared to what they had on their site, Goodyear is doubling the price on the parts compared to what Napa was selling them for. This is a complete ripoff. I ended up buying all the parts I needed for only about $105 and did the job myslef to replace the rotors and brakepads and saved myself over $250. I urge that if you go there for service that you don't be quick to accept there service. I suggest you obtain the quote in writing and research what they are charging you. It's a shame that they will upcharge the prices on the parts to ripoff their customers, shame on them for doing so!
