Google Adwords is a complete SCAM!!! Do not let anyone convince you of anything different. I have a new online business and I had never done any internet marketing or ads. I deceided to start with Google as a brand name that could be trusted. This would soon prove to be a very costly mistake.

I called up the company and a rep explained the bidding process for CPC ads. I created an Adwords account and was assinged a rep by the name of Michael Ramirez. During my orientation he explained that we would set up the ad campaign and check it once a week to determine if any optimization was needed. So, we created a product ad for Google Shopping. Once this ad was created I was told that it could not run because there was no feed. Later the technical team explained there would be no feed because the products uploaded directly from Shopify. My agent (Michael) had no clue of this. (RED Flag # 1).

Once this was corrected, the ads then could not run because they needed to be reviewed. This is typical, but I was not told beforehand that this was the case. I had already made arragnements to run ads for a Grand Opening Easter Weekend for 2 weeks. After 3 days the review was complete and the ads began to run on Friday.

I thought now I will at least have a full week to run ads but then that following Monday my ads went into another review, which I had no knowledge of until Wednesday when I paid my $160 bill. I noticed on Tuesday that my traffic had dropped from 100 visitors a day to 3 visitors a day. I called in to ask Mike and he said my traffic was slow on Tuesday. "Huh?" On Wed. I discovered the truth. (Red Flag #2). It was another agent who discovered that there was another review on my ads. She said the review would last for 3 days. On the 4th day Michael emailed me to say congratualations, my review was complete. This information was false! because the review ultimately lasted for 8 days. The reason given was that the review department was hort staffed and backed-up. Because of their internal problems, my business now suffered. (Red Flag #3) At this point I realized that there was extreme incompetence consistent with the agents in this company and I could not believe I was experiencing this from Google.

I asked to speak to a supervisior and was told I would need to wait 48 hours to have one contact me. "What?" I waited and after 72 hours I heard nothing. I emailed Mike and told him I wanted him removed from my account. After this his manager named Nelson Sparks contacted me. He seemed reasonable, but unwilling to accept any responsibility for the treatment I had received. (Red Flag #4). He sent me some information that I could read about Adwords and offered to help in the future. Of course, when I reached out in the future he did not return my emails and Michael Ramirez still had not been removed.

Next thing I know, my account is being charged another $200 after a few days! I demand that Michael be removed in an email and I get a response threatening to suspend my phone privilage because I was rude to a rep. "What?" Certainly, I was frustrated and had every right to be, but I never mistreated a rep and such a response was ridiculous. I realized that I would receive no assisstance from anybody in this crooked scam company and requested a full refund. Initially, Nelson Sparks agreed to give me a partial refund of $200, but then a day later he called to inform me that "They" deceided not to.

After this I filled a complaint with the BBB. In their reply they still refused to accept any responsibility and so now I am also filing a complaint here. I will continue to seek remedy and in the process I intend to let all other unsuspecting customers know that doing any business with Google Adwords is a terrible idea. Investing in SEO is much more effective and sensible. Google Adwords must be exposed for the crooked organization it is. I thought Google was a name we all could trust, but it is NOT!
