Government Grant Information Guide attempted scam St Petersburg Florida

I was contacted at my job on 1-6-05 by a man saying I was chosen to receive a government grant. His name was Thomas Chales. He told me everyone gets chosen once in a lifetime to receive these grants.

After confirming that I was over 18 and a tax payer. He then requested the name of my bank. I of course refused to give him any info and instead requested his ID.

When it became obvious that he would get no info from me. He said he would send me the packet in a week or two and hung up. I immediately came to this site to check him out.

The phone number was also listed under "Government grant information services". I could barely understand his thick accent- he sounded south east asian.
