Gracias Auto Repair and Detail Price quote is not price charged Fresno California

I put an ad on CL for mobile mechanic. I advertised that I needed a cheap mechanic to diagnose my vehicle and that it was most likely the transmission. Michael responded and came out to check the car.

When he got there he had no tools whatsoever. He looked at the car for three minutes then told me it was the transmission and that he could get it running for $225. I asked him are you certain that part of the transmission is all that is needed? He said yes. I said is there anything else that needs fixing or any leaks. He said no. I had it towed to his shop. Later that day he said things were looking rougher than he expected. He said he would call me with an update. I didn't hear from him until after he had done extra work to the car which came out to a total of $414.

I asked him why he didn't call me to check with me before doing the repairs and he said if I have a problem with it he can undue the work and I can take the car. I told him he doesn't need to act like that. He said if I am worried about it not working he would give me $800 for it. I told him I would pick the car up tomorrow.

I was upset for him doing the work without my permission but the car was running well so I let it go. A week later my radiator hose is noticeably leaking. I take it back to him because I am desperate and in a hurry to get it fixed before i get a crack in my block. He tells me $40 to fix the upper radiator hose and $120 if the entire radiator needs to be replaced. After he finishes the work he says i owe him $100 because he fixed it fast, added a gasket, and fixed it while the engine was still hot. 

I told him that for an ASE certified mechanic he was being dishonest and that i would sue him. He told me he has been doing this for 25 years and basically unquote to kick rocks.

Two days later the hose comes off and i get stranded because my car overheats. My dad manages to get the hose back on and I go to work the next day and get stranded again because again the hose came off. I sent him a picture of the hose having come off and told him i want $60 back and for him to fix the repair. He didn't respond.

Pep boys told me that the radiator hose that was on their was too flimsy and that i needed a new hose. Also, my boyfriend told me that Michael said he got the transmission parts from pick a part yet he charged me as though the parts were new.
