I just recently purchased on Jan. 12th, 10, over the phone a $99.00, 2 nights, three days family GCR Condo package by a representive, Michael M.. I was sold strictly on the Condo idea, and assured by Michael M. that we would be accomindated in one of their Condos, with two queen sized beds. Two days afterwards I am cold called by another telemarkerter of a different time shared company, Clanten T., who claims to be a long time aquientance of Michael M., and an ex employee of Grand Crowne Resorts. I am told by C.T. how Michael M. had just been where C.T. works to apply for a job there -- within 24 to 48 hours since I spoke with Michael M., and having been "sold" this package...

I am slso told by C.T. of the poor conditions and state of Grand Crowne's Surrey Inn, and how GCR would end up placing us in those conditions at that place, a non condo, more like a motel/hotel. I pulled up the GCR video of Surrey Inn and sure enough the room on the video under that same name appeared more like a plain standard hotel room with two queen beds than an actual condo. . I am also informed by C.T. how I can look into all the reported complaints at ripoffreport, so I check it out: reading all the ex employee's negated statements, along with others' complaints. As a result I call Grand Crowne Resorts to confirm our condo arrangment and I am told by "Arron" in their Reservations Activation Dept. that we will be staying at the Surrey Inn and supplied with one queen bed and a "fold out sofa" as the second "queen sized bed?"

I expressed my concerns on what I had both personally heard and read about Surrey Inn, and in whole about the Grand Crowne Resorts business, by ex employees.  I also having considered how misleading the whole sales presentation was/is, am now unsure as to what sort of arrangements and services will be rendered, and "when" - and if our pending vacation time in May 10 will be made available?

I was also assured on the 12th by Michael M. that the $99.00 charge would show up in my bank statement as under "Grand Crowne Resorts". I checked with my bank's customer service on that same day (12th) and it showed just that, however after checking on this again (on the 14th) it shows up in my statement under "Springfield Pelema"- and I am NOW actually unsure if I have really been charged once or twice, and why the sudden change? And "for what reason was I so assured" on the day of the charge -that the charge would show up under the name of "Grand Crowne Resorts" - only for it to then so suddenly change?  At the least it's confusing. And besides, I don't like someone going out of their way to assure me of one thing and then for such to change at another date.

I have decided to cancel the package before even their mail package of information is received. I was told and assured by Michael M., and Arron that it would be no problem canceling within 14 days and having my money refunded to my card. However Clayton T. thinks I may have trouble having my money reinburst. We shall see. Two of my Bank's Customer Service Representatives have been notified and suggested I first attempt to cancel with the company before they take action.

I requested Aaron on the 14th to have David in GCR Cancelations, contact me today, the 15th of Jan, between 4:30 to 5PM - and she assured me David would call back between 4:30pm and 5:00pm. But he did not make the call back, so before his leaving work at 5pm, I called but all I got was a recording. I left a message requesting a call back, but No such call back was made. I will phone GCR again tomorrow before taking action through my bank. I would like to give them ample opportunity and a fair chance to see if they will honor their word in this ONGOING PRECEEDING...

I am a man of my word, and a converted past outlaw biker gang leader, who is now a WORLD known Chaplain of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, and I am fair. But I expect anyone, especially business people to hold to their word -or don't make such promises "for sales sake" that they don't intend to honor- if they expect to gain my trust. But if they want to play games I am the Christian the devil warned you about... a God called prophet. Woe unto any who touch God's anointed -and that includes their money, time or resources. 

I'm just getting started. We will see in this ongoing report if David of GCR cancellations keeps his call back appointment? If the money is refunded, and if so, in what timely fashion it is refunded. My present Christian bikers club of about 400 members will also be informed and updated on this situation. From yours truly, Chaplain

A Follow up Good report

I am back with a followup report, which I meant to do much sooner than now, but I have been pressed with work. I must say I am VERY impressed with the staff at Grand Crowne Resorts since my first post. David the GCR Manager did call me back the VERY next day very concerned and polite.

He had already reviewed the original sales presentation I was given and agreed there should have been a clearer distinction made known between special packages accomindations and owner's condos, for out of state people like me who don't know any better- well it's all good, that's the bottom line.

David has incorporated new training efforts towards better understanding of such and making sure all the staff is learning from this misunderstanding. I appreciate the way my dealings with GCR has gone since.   

Because David was straight up about everything I had asked him about, including any negitive matters I had been told by another company, who has a salesman who attempts in selling people on his package by mouth bashing another.

I don't go for that. I don't do business with that sort. But BEFORE GCR MANAGER DAVID M. even had any idea I had made the original complaint here, or what I had said in it, he admitted having had some past employee problems after giving street people, down and outers etc, a chance to work during the pre recession and early recession crisis, to stimulate business for them and the street people, which backfired, and didn't work well for either.

Many of those didn't get a good training time in before working the phones. And it showed. Some did get disgrunted, and some even out right lied against GCR , as an act revenge, or just out of being upset that it didn't work out for them.

As you can read for yourself, you don't need me to tell you that- just read it yourself. Some lied on this company and then turned around and admitted it here at ripoffreport.

But I am here to set the record straight. Nobody's twisting my arm or endorsing me with pay to say what ever-- I say only what the good Lord would have me say, because I am no sell out.

Yes, David HAS gone out of his way to assure me and has put it in writing, and we are to stay in one of the owner's condo, not an Inn, with a vacation package double what was offered unto me originally, with David's personal assurance of handling our account personally.

BUT it is not a bribe but because of the way the original presentation was gray in some areas in the sense that there could have been more clarity in making better distinction between being shown owner's condos and staying in one on "a special" low cost package I was being offered -that BTW, "I" misunderstood,

not that Michael M. had misrepresented any thing- NO he didn't- I just didn't know the difference at the time between a condo and what the Surry Inn was - I thought the Surrey Inn was also "a condo", and that the "Inn" title was just what they wanted to call that particular condo -

I've never been there... I didn't know the difference; I've visited other Condos in the past that used the name "Inn" in their name for certain "units" or sections.  It's that simple.

But what really confounded me and threw me into a panic was this Clanton T. character who had called from out of the blue - not related- and began bashing GCR badly in order to have me cancel with GCR (once I had mentioned to him I already had a packaged deal)

and he began bashing GCR in order that I "might" purchase his package quote: "at a better deal than their roach infested, damp, dark nasty... so and so bla bla", unquote, and he wanted to make me as quote: "happy as a rat on a cheeto", (his words),

which... didn't set all that well in my mind's view that sprang from his carney sounding voice. He sounded like he had once worked for a carnaval or the circus or something. Truthfully?, he really disgusted my digestive system, since I WAS trying to finish my dinner at the time.

And of course I told the guy I wasn't making any decisions with anybody at the time until I knew more about both. And the man kept calling day after day, evening after evening afterwards... once calliing 14 times between 5 to 9 pm.

I had my answering machine hook up by then, so he was calling and saying on the recording, "hello... hello..." and hanging up, while I could hear the same sound of their telemarketers in the background. What got me most about all this is, if that guy had not called from out of the blue and started in with his trash I'd HAVE been as happy as a rat on a cheeto! And not tensed and paniced as I was.

GCR has NEVER slamed-spamed my telephone, nor dug any one else's grave to attempt to cop a deal.

You see, this Clanten or Clayton T. character did this trick: after he thought he had a chance for a sale with me, AFTER he had totally bad bashed GCR - and knowing I was concerned and in doubt, needing time to sort it out, he calls me back up the very next day with a wham-BAM-I-don't-giva DANDY sales pitch from the devil...

like his tail is on fire and tells me I HAVE to make a decision THAT DAY otherwise I'd miss out AND THE CHANCE WOULDN'T COME AROUND AGAIN UNLESS I ACTED THEN.

I CALMLY said "No", and then hung up. Afterwards - starting the very next day the man kept calling until he got me on the phone and then offered the very same packaged deal again! But that is when I was assured in my soul that he'd say anything to make a sale, especially to lie- because he already had!

I guess he just thought he was smarter than me, or that I was senile, when he's the one with the apparent memory issue.  CT if you are reading this just LOOK AT MY PICTURE BUD,  DO I LOOK TO YOU LIKE A FOOL?  I didn't earn my colors being a patsy! And I don't play "games".

You mess with me and mine and I'll hang your socks out to dry-with  you in them, upside down and right-side out, and leave you there to rot. Well, give Glory to God and be glad I'm saved my man! Because I'm still capable of doing it, but for the restraining grace of Jesus. I'm redeemed but I'm not perfect... yet.   

MM, where was it that ol' Clayton T. worked? Spiniker! That's it!                            S P I N I K E R Resorts-Watch out for that guy... unless you like rats.

I am very satisfied with the respectful manner in how I have been treated by the staff of GCR in how they have handled this misunderstanding, and with their politeness. I have no doubts about our arrangements, and I am "happier" than a rat on a cheeto. 

I am also appreciative of the VERY professional staff I have spoken with, beginning with Michael M., an excellant sales Rep., with a very excellent impressive presentation and an impressive voice, and ending with GCR Manager David M., a most impressive soul in every sense. I look forward to meeting them.
