Several years ago I had booked a $99 vacation getaway off of the internet for a 3day/2night stay in a cabin in the Smoky Mountains.  My accommodations were at the Eagles Ridge Resort in Pigeon Forge Tennessee.  Part of this package was to tour the new facilities being brought to Pigeon Forge by Grand Crowne Resorts.

The directions took me to a office in a strip mall.  As my guest and I arrived we were promptly taken to a large room with many people and sat down at a table.  Our salesman, Tommy ******,** had sat down with us and went over the timeshare vs hotel, 4 square sales pitch, vacation ownership, receipts vs memories, the  usual salesman pitch.  He then took us and showed us pictures of the other resorts that GC had to offer, then took us to the construction site where they were building their new sales center.

This was a empty hillside with scattered construction equipment and a partial structure with signs indicating "Coming Soon, Our New Sales Center"  He continued by saying "just last week we finished the contract to have 150 cabins built here by fall 2012"  He pointed the location and talked about a "X" million dollar indoor water park, andthat there was even approval for an exit off of the interstate right into Dollywood which would also tie into the property here. He further went on to say "if you were buying a house in a development, which one would be cheaper, the first one or the last one. now is the time to buy" Reinforcing the necessity to purchase today.

We went back inside to our table and he started taking prices.  Starting at near $50k he worked down to about $16,900. (This was supposed to be a 90min presentation, we are now approaching the 3hr mark) I declined the offer and was directed to a "Manager" who offered us $8900.  We declined there also and was then directed to another "Supervisor" who offered us a 1 year "trial" for $995.  We accepted the trial - 4 1/2 hours later.

Several times throughout the next year we had attempted to use our "membership" to no avail. Near the end of this trial period we were invited back to tour the resort again, which we accepted. Again, our accommodations were at Eagles Ridge Resort.  After attending the meeting again, with the same sales rep. He eventually talked us in to a $8900 package. Which he felt would be all we would need.   We were taken across the street to the cabin area where we were shown 1 cabin partially complete and the start of another.

We expressed throughout the entire meeting that the cabin is what we like, that is the only thing we want to stay in.  He assured us that if we wanted to come stay in PF, and there were no openings at the resort here, we would be "put up" at Eagles Ridge, which was more that fine by us. Again, now "full fledged" owners, we tried several times to get reservations there but were not successful. There were no getaway weeks available either, which by the way we were promised 12/year of.  SO the next 2 trips I made to PF, I had to pay for, out of pocket. Near the end of our 1st yr as owners we were invited back for an Update.

This time we were not put up in a cabin, but at hotel. I was less than happy about this. We are taken back for our update and are told that unless we upgrade to a "Charter Certificate" that our timeshare will be worthless.  They said we couldn't just add it to our existing property, we have to trade ours in, they would give us credit for what we already had paid and give us a different.  Well, they did, but the cheapest property they had was close to $14,000.

So we felt pressured to do this since were were told our timeshare would be worthless if we didn't.  He told us how he would help us rent out our time and could have our down payment reimbursed within 6mos., and that how he rents his for BIG PROFITS, and he could tell us to do the same.  Even gave me his personal cell number to call if I had any questions.  Long story short, they sold us a 2BR at Carriage Place yellow 124,950 EOY Odd package which we were told was their smallest in inventory.  Feeling like it was either this or a "useless timeshare" we purchased

Upon returning to Pigeon Forge in Dec 2011 (on a trip I again paid out of pocket for due to no availability)I was astonished to find only 3 cabins built & no other progress.

I feel we were lied to, deceived, pressured, and defrauded. Was told if I want to sell, call them, they refuse to buy refer me to a 3rd party. When I tell them what I have and what I owe, I'm usually laughed at.

This place is a scam and they employee really good con-artists.  Our salesman acted like he was a friend, would personally call at random just to check on me and the family, right until I told him I was pretty unhappy and wanted out.  No he won't answer my calls,  emails, etc.

Don't fall for this place!!!!!
