Stay AWAY from the Grand Mayan.  EVERYTHING you read here is true.  We were completely taken in Cancun.  Went through their presentation, said "No", was then sent to the "next level", said "no" and final were on our way out when "Paul" got a hold of us.  God, was he a sweet talker...you couldn't help but trust him.  Their sales tactics are indeed hardcore.  Was told everything the others were told...none of it being true.  When we returned home and received our package, only then did we realize that the only places we could go were low-end resorts in places equivalent to Nebraska.  All the great resorts had additional fees that we might as well go directly to a high-end hotel as it was cheaper. Our $3000 got us nothing.  No golf, no resorts, no nothing without a high fee attached.  An absolute and complete scam.  We felt so taken and humiliated.  Their high pressure tactics were very convincing that you'd get what was promised.  Verbally, they told you lies, it wasn't until their "helpful" staff mailed you the contract that you realized what was verbally promised wasn't in the contract. By then it was too late to recind  Don't go for it...ever!

Yes, unfortunately Mayan Palace is one of the most fraudulent resorts!! I also had a bad experience with them, the way they treated me, and all the lies i've heard.
The worst thing is that once you fall into their scam tactics it's almost impossible to get out.
Here's a list of complaints about this resort i've found recently,
you should take a look: timesharescam.com/timeshare-complaints-resorts-black-list/3-mayan-palace-timeshare-complaints/
Don't give up, i still have hope that sooner or later we are going to make a difference against those thieves.

Mayan Palace Timeshare Scam

AUTHOR: LauDiaz - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, February 05, 2014

My husband and I had exactly the same bad experience at this place. They got to us as soon as we arrived at the airport in Mexico. I will say the resort is beautiful and the "complimentary" breakfast was fabulous! However it quickly went downhill. At the end of the "Mayan Palace timeshare presentation" after repeatedly declining their offer they sent over what can only be described as the nastiest woman in Mexico! She was actually rude and abusive. When she asked us if our tour guide had done a good sales job we sincerely replied that she had, she was a very nice young woman who was honest and well informed, she then said to us that she had obviously not done the job since we were not purchasing a package with them and that the young woman would probably be fired!! Also I remember the starting price for their package being tens of thousands of dollars but after we declined numerous times the price finally dropped to $1500.00. The true hallmark of a travel scam! Wish we had known before we lost an entire day of our vacation!!!

Mayan Palace Timeshare Scam

AUTHOR: SBrittany - ()

POSTED: Thursday, November 21, 2013

It is the same old story with the Mayan Palace timeshare resorts (owner David Chavez) who does not care about what fraud he perpetrates on timeshare buyers.  The same old adage applies, with regard to rental fees applicable, etc. It is fraud and there is right of rescission in Mexico no matter what program you buy, no matter what the horror show salespeople tell you.  Heve not met one semi-honest one representing the mayan chain yet. Yes, we got scammed and bought, never again. These are the worst operators in the business.  The name of the programs, Mayan Regency, The Dream, Mayan Palace, Grand Mayan, Bliss, Grupo Luxxe change with regard to what they wish to charge.  The upshot is if you are down the line in their program name game list you lose benefits. The tiger does not change its stripes. Beware.
