hi, my name is Sara, myself and Damien got married in 2007 and decided to go for our honeymoon to the States, Las Vegas among other places. we stayed at the Luxor hotel, and on the second day there, we were lured into going to a resort a few miles from there. our state agents name was J.C., very nice and friendly man, or so we thought. he drove us there, showed us the property. he was asking how much money we had in our visa card, to pay for the deposit of the timeshares, we said we only had a few hundred dollars as we were flying to Los angeles in two days time. so himself and his boss, i cant remember his surname but his name was "Ernest" (this reminds me of that book: The Importance of being Ernest), convinced us that for being so nice instead of four weeks we would get 6 weeks that we could exchange for other timeshares anywhere in the world. we gave them 300 dollars and we due to give them 2000 dollars more when we got back home.

when we got back home, we paid that money and a few more months but my husband lost his job so we stopped the payments. it was just impossible for us to pay any money for this, as we also had to pay for bills here and we had to pay the creche for our two kids.

they got on to us and i explained the situation to them. i said to them just keep the money and sell the timeshare to somebody else, but they didnt accept this. after emails and pnohecalls every month looking for payments, they told me i could sell it in a few websites on the internet. i placed the ad in those websites but nobody replied to them. i told my solicitor about this situation and he advised us timeshares are very hard to sell but he could understand we were doing everything in our hand to sell it as we had no money to pay for it.

after at least 6 months, not hearing from them, last week they rang us again looking for money and menacing us if we didnt pay they would tell their legal team and they would be the ons sorting it out.

a few hours ago, they rang again to check if the situation had changed, but it hasnt changed from one week to another mainly due to the recession and the lack of jobs here and everywhere else in the world.

their answer to this was that they were going to leave it in the hands of their legal team and that well hear from them.

so i guess in the next few weeks well hear from them, but we stil wont be able to pay,

does anybody have any ideas?anybody can help? has this happened to anybody else?

i read a few reports on gradview las vegas from different people, i am just wondering whether anybody got this far and if you heard from their legal team?

i would strongly advise that nobody buys shares with this people, because they will keep you in their office trying to convince you for hours and they will harrass you trying to get the money for as long as they want. we are both stressed out about this.
we gave them over 4000 dollars for something we have never enjoyed or even seen and that we cant get rid off.

does anybody know how to deal with this?

thank you

Sara

Scam for sure

AUTHOR: Lita - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, April 02, 2012

My daughter is in the same situation. She and her husband were coerced into buying a time share 6 years ago. The got one week every 3 months. They have never used it, payed on it monthly and still owe about $2500. Now getting a divorce she emailed to check her options. There are none. The group doesnt resell because they have their own to sell. Quick claim deed doesn't change both names on loan. They ruin their credit if they let it go. Grandview in Las Vegas is a scam for sure. They have paid thousands and have something they can't get rid of. Sounds like a good class action suit for some attorney. They pray on young married couples and and con-artists any way you look at it.

Same Situation

AUTHOR: Shawn Tidyman - (Canada)

POSTED: Friday, January 21, 2011

Hi,

I'm in this exact situation. I financed a 2 bedroom unit at the Grandview as a result of the high pressure sales described in all of these articles. Now it is 3 years later and i can no longer make the monthly payments and yearly maintenance fees. I cannot sell it because no one is interested.I would love to know what happened next in this story because i am about to embark on this same journey.

Does anyone know the ending to this story?

Thanks,

Shawn
