My wife ad I fell victim the the Grandvview Las Vegas timeshare scam, by some of the most high pressure tactics and deceptive saleteam you could imagine. While in Las Vegas we were approched by a one of the resorts sales team. The deception started immediatly, which we did not know till much later. This person asked if we would like $200 to gamble with for going to look at a resort located on the strip. All we would have to do is go look at the resort take a 1 hour tour of the resort. We did not wish to do so, and the sales person gave us additional slot machine voucher and would mark it on the reservation and said they would have breakfast there and how could we loose, for an hour of our time. So were agreed and he gave us a time slot the next morning, and said they would have our gambling voucher and breakfast waiting. When we got there and registered we were told to have a seat and someone would be right with us, we sat for almost an hour before anyone called our name and took us for the breakfast. Which turned out to be nothing more than coffee and stale donuts, and off on the tour which took about 45 minutes to an hour walking us around to the different types of units one and two bedroom units etc. Then the pool area and the gounds pointing out the various ammenities.

When we returned to the sales area the sales pitch went into high gear. The price of the various units was given to us after all the questions about how much do you spend on vacations a year, were do you vacation. Buy here and you can vacation anywhere you wish we have resorts all over. You can trade your week for a small fee, look at some of the places you can go to, when we said we did not wish to spend that kind of money, so we did not want to buy. That sales person left and said I'll get your gift and with that he left and someone else came in and asked if everything was explained clearly to us and with that started the sales pitch all over again this time dropping the price adding free weeks and again we did not wish to get into that amount of money, and only wished to think about it and we wanted to leave because now we had been there over three hours. When that person left to get our gift which I thought he was going to do when he left another person came stating he was the sales manager and was wondering if his people explained everything to us and did we understand everything and then he started the sales pitch all over again. So much was said to us about what he would give use and dropping price giving additional weeks I have to report to make sure my sales people told you all about the resort and how this was going to be next to the new highway coming in from LA and on it went. I have no idea how long it took at that point I was tired of the ordeal by that time and before I knew it we were buying one of there units. I know this by the time we left it was late afternoon, and both my wife and I felt sick about the entire experience.

The next day we went to use the gambling voucher at the designated casino, we found out it was only for a small bank of slot machines that had no payouts you played for credits only. You could increase the credits but could not cash them out, so it was not gambling at all. I say not gambling cause they risked loosing nothing and we could not get anything. To make matters worse we found out that we could not use the resort for trade in, because nothing was ever available for places we wanted to go to. All the stuff the various sales people said to us concerning the resort and the fees seldom going up was bull, the extra weeks couldn't be used nothing available was always the case  and Berkley has a form for you to initial stating they are not responsible for deceptive practices/ lies used by the sale people to sell their worthless resort. I say worthless because there is no value to it, hell they don't even want it back!
