GRAY'S TAXIDERMY BEWARE OF TAXIDERMY SCAM POPANO BEACH Florida

 Gray's Taxidermy has been running a saltwater deepsea fishing scam for a long long time and every year they rip-off hundreds of unsuspecting tourists. Here is how their dishonest scam works. Evey fishing charter boat operater in the United States, Mexico and the Carribean is on commission with Gray's. When a tourist catches a fish the charter boat pirate immediately tells the fisherman that he has made a great catch and he should have this beautiful fish mounted. The tourist is pressured into making a decision right away and is told that if he wants to have a trophy made the fish needs to go on ice immediately before it starts to deteriorate. The tourist asks how much it will cost and the captain quotes a price that he fully knows is only one third of the actual cost. The fisherman is pressured into having the trophy made by being told that this is a once in a life time catch and he will never catch a fish this large again. The fisherman puts down a deposit, which he is told is half of the total cost to have the fish made into a trophy. After returning to the dock the tourist goes on his merry way and the charter boat captain throws the "trophy fish" into the nearest garbage dumpster. Several weeks after returning home the tourist will receive a very large bill from Gray's asking for far more money then the originally quoted price. When the tourist contacts Gray's he is told that the charter boat captain was only taking a lucky guess about the actual price.

This is a total lie. The captain knows exactly how much it will cost and he intentionally quotes a low price in order to get his hands on your credit card. The tourist is also informed that the deposit he made on the boat is non-refundable because they have already started working on your fish. This is another total lie. Your fish is long gone and Gray's has done absolutely no work on it what so ever. They don't have your fish and never did. They have a large wharehouse filled with fiberglass replicas of fish and once they have received more of your money they will grab one of these replicas that is approximately the same size as your fish was and start spray painting it. You either have to pay the requested price or you will loose your deposit. If you decide to send them more money to have the trophy made your financial troubles are not over. In a few months you will receive another bill for about three hundred bucks for crating charges.

This is absolutely ridiculous because the crating is nothing more then shoving the replica fish into a cardboard box and then filling it with styrofoam packing peanuts. But wait! We're not finished yet. The tourist will then receive another large bill for shipping charges. These charges will be extremely high and far more money then the actual cost. Unfortunately, unless you pay the money you will never receive your fish and you are already into this mess for well over a thousand dollars. When you finally receive your "trophy" you will soon realize that this isn't your fish at all. It is a plastic fishy that isn't even painted on the back side and is only approximately the size of the fish that you caught. The tourist is extremely angry and Gray's couldn't care less. They milk the toursist traffic and there are always more tourists out there.
