Great Lakes Warranty Corporation I purchased two Silver Warranty claims for two used cars last year. Last Fall I entered one claim which GLWC failed to honor until I had repeatedly called different members of their staff. That claim was honored in December, but I worked for it! It took about four months for them to honor it.

I then had a claim in January on my other car. When I contacted them in March wondering why they hadn't processed the claim, I was told it was never entered.  This was after leaving several messages, contacting the dealer who sold me the warranty, getting their personal contact and leaving messages with him until he answered his phone.  That led me to the claims department where they said the claim was misplaced.  They then promised to process the claim in April. 

It is now June and I have called them several times (Mary, GG and Jean in Accounting who DO  NOT answer their phone or call back).  I have left messages with Walt Carpenter, I believe he is the VP at the Claims Department.  He has not called back.  I have left messages with the sales contact who originally sold the warranty who has not called back.  I am assuming they are on the verge of bankruptcy with this kind of treatment for their customers.  Basically, since the beginning of June I have left several messages, emails and a fax without a call back or confirmation.  The only person you will speak to at GLWC is the receptionist and trust me when I tell you she is not helpful. 

I'm out the cost of the warranty + the time and effort of trying to get an $800 claim reimbursed.  I keep bugging them, but it is solely out of principle at this point.  They have wasted so much of my time and money.
