GreenTree has some of the most rudest people I have ever talked to in my life.

In 1999 my husband and I obtained a second mortgage on our home. It was placed with Conseco then GreenTree. In 2001 I was in a bad auto accident and was then told that I had Fibromyalgia and could no longer work. We fell behind on our payments by a couple of months. We were called on a daily basis and sometimes three times a day. I would make arrangments with them as to when the payment would be sent. "We'll make a note of that in our files". Where are those files? Because we still recieve those calls daily. I was told once that if I couldn't afford my home then I shouldn't have gotten it.
We have been paying on this loan for five years and we seem to still owe the same amount, where's my payments going. Probably in their pockets.

We now have our home for sale and I have having problems trying to get a payoff amount for my realtor. I am told that it would take up to six weeks to obtain that information. Thats bull. Computers are easy to operate, just push the right button.

Their monthly statements suck. There's no balance listed anywhere. So you never know if that have your payment or not.

I beg anyone lokking to obtain a mortgage DON'T GO WITH GREENTREE! They are the rudest people out there.

RECORD EVERYTHING 2

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 08, 2004

First of all, I can't say it enough: RECORD EVERYTHING. Inlcuding all of your phone calls with Greentree. If you ask for a payoff, we have to give it to you. The reason they tell you they won't, is because when you call in, and put your account number in the phone system, if you're account is delinquent, even one day, you are transfered to collections, and we are ruthless. It takes aproximately 1 minute to calculate a payoff, and if you end up getting ahold of customer service, you will be able to get a payoff.

The way around it is to not enter any account number. Just let it keep prompting you, eventually it will connect you with customer service. 1-800-643-0202 or you can go about it another way, dial 1-800-544-8056 ext 50576
there is no prompt, there is no representative. It will ask for the extension, enter 50576.

Dont finance with Greentree again

Look on your statement

Cindy,
On your statement should be a customer service number. We have contacted that number just recently in the last week and they gave us the pay-off amount over the phone. Now we have a mobile home, I do not know if that is what you own. As to where your money is going, with our loan, it is all going to interest first then to the original loan amount.

Green Tree is a predatory lendor by all means. They are awful. We have recently found out that our loan is actually fraudulent as many others have found out. We have even found out that our Dealer had a legitimate offer from a local bank at an interest rate 3% lower than Conseco but told my husband that only Conseco would accept him. We later found out that there was a kickback involved with the Dealer.

We originally tried to get the FBI invovled but they could not find a federal law broken by the dealer so it has now be placed into the hands of local law officials. Our dealer along with the lot owner, lot manager and hopefully Green Tree will all be affected by this investigation. We are still fighting with Green Tree about the fraudulent loan. Do try to call the customer service number, or you can go online to gtservicing.com and sign up and get your payoff that way. I remember it being there also.

Best of luck
