i purchased a moneypak from walgreens to load 140 on once i got home to load my card i was told the account had a zero balance, so i called greendot and was told to fax a copy of receipt and moneypak which i still have, and was told they hadnt received it so i fax it again and was told they did, call back and was told the next day they didnt receive it but to email a copy so i did that and was told i would be contacted in 5 business days, so i called on the 5th business day and was told fax a copy again i told them u should have 2 faxes and an email, i was told to wait and that some one would contact me that day and that the money was loaded to another card

to speak to someone who barely speaks english and to be asked to do the same thing again is stupid i used greendot for several years and after this i will not refer or use ever again, i beleive thier workers or sending money to their family members because i dont understand how money can be transfered  to a card before it is loaded to anything is a scam from the moneypak workers itself

Green Dot Corporation Response

AUTHOR: Green Dot Corporation - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, March 26, 2014

Sorry for the experience. For Moneypak issues we generally ask customers to visit https://www.moneypak.com/Help.aspx. To be able to verify the load we ask customers to fax us the MoneyPak and receipt. If it has been used we can help investigate and try to recover. Unfortunately, MoneyPaks are treated like cash and we can't guarentee a refund once it is used. A fraud warning is included on the MoneyPak package and information on protecting yourself from fraud, including common scams, is available on the MoneyPak website.  When using MoneyPak, consumers should first verify the recipient is on the list of approved partner companies listed on the MoneyPak website, and never provide MoneyPak information to an individual person requesting it as a form of payment. For approved MoneyPak partners and other information on using MoneyPak, go to www.MoneyPak.com. If you need further assistance, you can also send an email with your name, phone number, claim number(if you were provided one) and a brief description of your issue to Customer.Advocacy@greendot.com.  We will review and reach out to you to assist.
