For 8 years, I have had to put up with GreenPoint Credit,on the purchase of a mobile home in Missouri. A mistake I regret and will for the rest of my life. I fell behind on my payments, being single 3 kids to raise, and no help from their Dad. Anyway, GreenPoint was ruthless in there telephone calls, not only at home but at my place of employment.

One day as I was out of the office collecting the mail for my employer GreenPoint called, my employers wife answered the phone, while I was out, and she informed them that I was not in. Sherri Klaus who worked for GreenPoint got instantly angry and called my employers wife a F***ing liar, then hung up. My employer was furious, because he had been standing next to his wife, and over heard the conversation.

He instantly dialed star 69 to see who the caller was. It went to GreenPoint Credit. I came so close to losing my job. I informed GreenPoint what had happened but that did not stop the harrassing phone calls. They still continued to call my place of employment. Not only did they do this but they also would harrass my children at home, yelling at them and threating to throw them out in the street.

One day when they called my younges answered the phone and Scott informed her that he was coming to her house. She was only 12 at the time, she was in a panic, because it was a strange man. Again I wrote to GreenPoint Credit in California. Then they called my mother, who is not a co-signer, her name is only listed as a reference.

They called her threatening her, that if she didn't make my payment now over the phone that her grandchildren would be sleeping in the streets by night fall. She of course was upset, she's 75 years old and on social security.

It doesn't end there, as time goes by I tried to keep my payments up, but I got behind again, and so I talked with Courtland Bay from GreenPoint Credit, he suggested I send them 2 post dated checks and he would deposit them on the date of the check. So I did that, the checks were not cashed on the dates, so GreenPoint's Attorney send me a forclosure packet, that they were going to repossess the mobile home.

I immediately faxed the Attorney in St. Louis that Courtland Bay, was holding 2 checks and that they had not been cashed yet. As time went by I set up a Auto withdraw from my checking account for GreenPoint Credit, wouldn't you know it the first payment and things go wrong, as soon as I found out I called GreenPoint Credit and spoke with Deerdra Marsdon, I explained that I was at my bank and that the auto withdraw did not go through as planned.

She told me not to worry about it that the computer shows it went through, I told her it had not, that I was at my bank, and it didn't go through, and should I send her a money order or a cashier check for the amount of the payment. She told me know that everything was ok. Wrong! I waited a week thinking they would find the mistake and try to take the payment out of my acount, didn't happen.

So again I called GreenPoint Credit, to tell them it didn't go through, Deerdra, again said that their computer shows everything ok and that my next payment wasn't due until Nov. Again I offered to send a money order or cashiers check, she said not to do that, that everything was ok, and if I did it would mess up the payment system.

So I waited until the end of the month, again it still hadn't gone through, once again I called form my bank, talked to Deerdra and she laughed at me, told me to stop worrying, that the payment went through. It hadn't. It took them a month and a half to realize I was telling the truth, and 3 rejections for cash. Then they wanted me to send in my payment, I said sorry, you said it was there.

So for almost 2 years it showed me past due 1 month. As it has turned out, I had to move to Colorado to be here for my mother, I tried desperately to sell the mobile home before I moved and the payments were current up to July this year, because I couldn't find a job right away, I signed the mobile home back to GreenPoint Credit thinking this was better then foreclosure.

Well they sold the mobile for 6500 dollars and still want me to pay 21,000 dollars. It's a mess. When I added up my payments for the last 8 years, I figure I have paid them 32,000 dollars on a the mobile, the purchase price was 28,000, plus they got 6500 in the sale.

Grant you I have been nieve, but surely there should be a credit rating for Companies like this. To fight for our rights, people should not be treated like this, no matter what there circumstances might be. If I couldn't make the payment then foreclose, and take it away, don't treat me like a dirty dog. Don't make me feel worse than I already feel, or demean my children and threaten people.

So consumers beware of GreenPoint Credit in Missouri, they are horrible.

Thank you for your reply.

Here is some important information that might interest you. If you would like to know when the stock market will crash again, simply 'Google' this- ALL READER COMMENTS BUSINESSWEEK LEROY YOAKAM, and click on the BusinessWeek link. Then go to the comment that was posted on Feb, 21, 2008 at 3:03 AM for the answer. (The comment is currently listed on 'Page 42'.)

Fact: Seven months later, in September of 2008, the stock market crashed and the banking system in the USA collapsed. On September 29, 2008, the Dow Jones lost a record 777 points in one full day of trading and the American people were forced to bail-out the failed banking system and several Wall Street firms with hundreds of billions of taxpayer's dollars from the TARP.

It should be a CRIME..@ Deadbeat....heehe

Karl,

I hope everyone reads your explanation that is clearly articulated in your reply.  I agree with your reply and now they have all these homes vacant and depreciating they want to "take" back the foreclosure and charge the past grantee the monthly mortgage fees, again.  What NERVE do they have!

Does CON ARTIST ring a bell!  It needs to stop and they need to prosecuted, if you ask me.

And Mr Jim, you will find even if you pay you debt before due a person is still in debt and the creditor can do as they please and that is wrong!  No one told them to start that type of business....SIR! By the way, I have learned to go directly to the creditors mortar place of business to pay my bills...SIR!

Unfortunately, we have to incur debt to survive (electric bill, water bill (that is mess) etc...why not seize their ones involved assets...or yeah, that includes money.  Sounds like the roaring 20's, what a shame.

Thanks for the information Karl.

Have a great week!

It appears that the U.S. government is unable to pay its bills and will need to raise the debt ceiling again, correct?

Question: Would you consider the U.S. government to be "deadbeats"?

Thank You

Can't Imagine Why?

I guess when deadbeats don't pay their bills, the creditors they are screwing are supposed to do nothing.  Every DEADBEAT in this country feels ENTITLED to make payments only when they want to or none at all!

Time 4 Truth,

AUTHOR: Karl - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, January 13, 2013

Here is what might be going on:

An artificial economy was created by a cartel of bankers several years ago and they used mortgage debt, credit card debt, college loan debt, and other debt as the foundation for their artificial economy. This 'artificial economy' grew to be many times larger than the real economy in the USA. It is even much larger than the Global Economy.

The USA's GDP is around $15 Trillion. Global GDP is around $69 Trillion. The 'Artificial Economy' was around $595 Trillion in 2007, according to information that is available on the web.
You can 'Google' this- FRONTLINE: THE WARNING, and watch that documentary on the web for proof. (At around 45 minutes and 40 seconds into the video is where the above figure of $595 Trillion is mentioned.)

Many of us know that millions of homes went into foreclosure in the USA and people were not able, and still not able, to pay their debt to the banks and to the investors who purchased the debt. The same thing happened in Europe. Many of us also know that millions of Americans were not, and still not able, to pay their other debts, such as credit cards, college loans, etc.

So, the artificial economy starts to collapse and the ones who control it are forced to do whatever it takes to keep it afloat. It is one of the reasons that the American people were forced to bail-out the banking system and several Wall Street firms in 2008 with hundreds of billions of dollars in TARP, which was taxpayer's money. Countries in Europe also feel the effect and start to collapse, because everything is connected, and they need to be bailed-out by the European Central Banks.

Here is the problem in the USA: The money from the TARP and the money being created by the Fed is only enough to keep things afloat for an undetermined amount of time. The cartel is forced to do things in order to try and keep the failed system going. (By the way, the failed system consists of the Federal Reserve, Wall Street and the U.S. government.)

Inflation, and even hyperinflation, will eventually set in because some of us are aware that printing too much money will eventually cause inflation.
You can 'Google' this- THE ASCENT OF MONEY PBS, and watch the episodes entitled 'From Bullion to Bubbles' & 'Bonds of War' on the web for proof that creating too much money and injecting it into a failed system will cause inflation.

Conclusion: Any society (economy) that is based exclusively on debt will eventually collapse because it is a failed system that punishes the masses of people who are ultimately pushed deeper into debt in order to keep the failed system afloat. The 'failed system' only rewards a very small percentage of the people in that society. Some of those who are rewarded are the bankers, Wall Street executives, and the politicians who serve the ones in control of the failed system.

*Keep in mind that what is stated above is an opinion. However, we know that an opinion can sometimes become a fact.

QUOTE: "The Collapse of the U.S. economy is in its infancy. Get all of your money out of the stock market and cash in your retirement NOW! - September 3, 2007.

On September 3, 2007, that was an opinion. One year later, in September of 2008, it became a fact. On September 29, 2008, the Dow Jones lost a record 777 points in one full day of trading and the banking system in the USA collapsed. Several Wall Street firms failed and were bailed-out with taxpayer's money from the TARP.

Bank of America; Greenpoint Credit; Greentree Financial

AUTHOR: Time_4_Truth - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, January 12, 2013

Hi from Texas!

After the APR dropped in 2004, Bank of American sold my "loan" to Greenpoint Credit which started the the foreclosure game!  I had a ARM paying $725.00 from 1997 to 2003.  The interest rate started dropping and Bank of America had been paid for the original payment to the Tx Manf Housing so here comes the invoice from Greenpoint Credit.

Greenpoint Credit lost a payment within months of being payee and that started the foreclosure process in their books.  They stated they had a fire at the location and never received it.  Had bank fax copy of cashed check three times but to no avail. (I think it is a subsidiary of Bank of America, but anyway) Not to mention, they wouldn't honor the lock in rate at $200, stating they aren't honoring the agreements in the contract so I asked for a new contract and of course my request was denied not knowing this company was the "FORECLOSURE" company.

In Bexar County, Texas, they have gone as far as changing the tax records to erase the original sell grantors and grantees (homestead even) and as of this day in 2013, they still haven't released the foreclosures notices of 2005 to 2007.  What is really going on?

Know what you mean

AUTHOR: Melissa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 10, 2005

My sister passed away in August 2004.Her mobile home was financed throughgreenpoint or greentree.(same company)She was told when she purchased the home that upon her death it would be paid off.She paid insurance monthly. She was completely up to date on her payments.I know this because in April I caught her payments up and paid them even the month of her death.

I told greenpoint that she passed away. They wanted proof.I was willing to send a death certificate but not willing to be executor of her estate.I was not willing to assume all of her debts. They asked me if I would be willing to give them $14,000.The mobile home was only originally $15,000 and she had paid on it for 5 years.I told them no.

They then began calling all day every day. They called family and work.I informed them I did not live in the mobile home.He threatened to send the sheriff to remove me from MY PROPERTY.I informed him I owned the property and they should move their mobile home.

This August they sent a guy to take pics. Then today another guy said he was a prospective buyer and Greenpoint gave him permission to go onto MY PROPERTY and view the mobile home.I allowed him to do so.He then asked what I would charge him for lot rent.I informed him it would have to be moved. It has been a year and this mess is continuing.

Greenpoint Credit Rip off

AUTHOR: Valerie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 05, 2004

I financed a manufactured home thru Greenpoint Credit in April 1999. Like all the other people complaining about this company, they too (greenpoint credit) constantly harrassed me at work and called family members if the payments were only 1 week late. They made threats to foreclose on my home and do an illegal lock out. Let's just say, in November of 2002 I was struggling, being a single parent with 3 children, paying lot rent, and all utilities I had been late on 2 of my payments. H

owever, I had to notify GREENPOINT CREDIT that I had no choice but to file bankruptcy on my home and vacate. I notified them on November 11, 2002. I told them I had 60 days by law to vacate the home after filing bankruptcy chapter 7. They turned around and sent someone to my home within 2 weeks, changed all the locks on the home including the dead bolt locks, screwed the doors shut from the inside, and locked all windows. This was also in the middle of winter time in Michigan, it could have not only left us homeless, but with 3' of snow outside we had no where to go, and they didn't care.

Thank god I was in the process of moving... I had no way to get into the home to get the remaining belongings I owned. They recovered a king size waterbed, bridesmaid dresses, a cam corder, and all my personal items of value, all the photo albums I had of my children since they were babies, and wouldn't let me have them back nor let me in the home!!! I lost all our memories thanks to this kind mortgage company.

THIS IS VERY VERY ILLEGAL. I contacted my attorney and was advised to break in the home to recover my belongings, but that was not possible without causing injury to myself by breaking in my OWN HOME and going through broken glass. THIS COMPANY IS VERY CROOKED! THEY ALSO REPORTED MY DEBT TO THE IRS AS A TAXABLE DEBT THAT I still to this day pay taxes on until this debt is taken care of even though,,,it was files under a chapter 7 bankruptcy!!

I had to pay taxes on over $19,000. that they stated I still owe them. They did not report to the credit bureau that this debt was discharged from a bankruptcy, as a matter of fact, they still show (2 years later), that it is a revolving debt that is past due!

DO NOT FINANCE FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU ARE LOOKING TO GET SCREWED!I'm not the only one that financed from them in the mobile home park I lived in. There were 6 of us that closed on mortgages at the same time. 5 of the 6 foreclosed, I am the only one that filed bankruptcy.

ALSO NOTE, WHEN THEY THREATEN WITH FORECLOSURE THEY ARE CRIMINALS, THEY DO NOT WAIT TO FILE THE COURT DOCUMENTS BEFORE DOING THE REPOSSESSION, THEY WILL COME TO YOUR HOME WHEN YOU ARE GONE, CHANGE THE LOCKS, AND STEAL ANYTHING IN YOUR HOME OF VALUE, "THEY CLAIM TO HELP RECOVER THE DEBT, BECAUSE THEY HAVE INTEREST IN THE PROPERTY!"

The 2nd person that was threatened with foreclosure was locked out of her home when she went to a neighbors to visit. She noticed a stranger through the front window of her home. When she went home the gentlemen stated he was a repossession man for GREENPOINT CREDIT and was instructed to change the locks and put signs up on the home stating no one could under the property even the owner or they would face prosecution.

I was there when all this occurred. After she found out what was going on she called her lawyer and he came right over. Would you know that what they did is illegal?? They had no court documentation stating the owner had to vacate?? No order for a court ordered foreclosure!! By the time we went out to his truck to see what items of theirs he has "confiscated for paying off some of her debt" we found several items of theirs in he back of this truck. THEY TOOK HER WEDDING DRESS, THEY TOOK THEIR HUNTING GUNS, THEY TOOK ALL THEIR TOOLS, ANYTHING THEY COULD FIND IN THE TIME THEY WERE IN THE HOME....AND THEY LITERALLY STOLE IT!!

They took the time to go through dressers, closets, cupboards, a storage shed, and even personal belongings. This is the kicker...the gentlemen they hired even took the time to get in her underwear drawer and take out her personal "self fullfilling tool" LOL..

I hope you know what I'm talking about. (vibrator) He took it out of the box, and had it setting on the TV in the living room when we arrived. I'm curious to know what kind of VALUE THAT HAD TO GREENPOINT CREDIT. DID THEY NEED TO USE IT AS THEIR TRADEMARK..LOL..."BEND OVER SO WE CAN SCREW YA'!"

I am so glad I found this site on here, I wish I would have found it a long time ago. If anyone even thinks about financing with this company GREENPOINT CREDIT please please reconsider so you don't go through what all the rest of us did...obviously they are setting a new trend for themselves on here!!!

Also like the other reports on here, they called everyone they had access to that I knew even though they weren't co-signers they harrassed my parents, my employer, my boyfriend, and my grandmother with phone calls, and refused to stop even after they told them they had nothing to do with the mortgage.

Someone that reads this,,,that can afford it,,,that has dealt with GREENPOINT CREDIT needs to find a good lawyer...they have violated so many federal and state of michigan laws that it is not funny.

And I'm sure those of us that were "ripped off" could show casue to illegal actions on their part to recover some of the losses we incurred and GREENPOINT CREDIT would be almost forced to settle out of court unless they want to permanently ruin their reputation. I would love to be reimbursed for all the chaos, the harrassment, and the repossession of personal items they had no right to take, and for the illegal lock outs they did to me!! IF ANY LAWYERS READ THIS AND WANT TO CONTACT ME, I WILL BE MORE THAN WILLING TO SUPPLY MY CONTACT INFORMATION TO THEIR OFFICE AND I'M SURE ALL THE OTHERS THAT HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE WOULD DO THE SAME! I KNOW PERSONALLY OF AT LEAST 4 PEOPLE THAT WOULD LOVE TO SUE THEM!!!!

WE COULD FILE IT ALL TOGETHER AS ONE BIG LAWSUIT AS WE ARE ALL PREVIOUS MORTGAGE HOLDERS FROM THIS COMPANY. Let's do something about this people!!!

I'm saving this site on my favorites if anyone wants to find a good lawyer willing to take this on, I'd love to be involved!!! I'll keep watching for updates and maybe something can be done about this!! Let's get the ball rolling!!
