Greenpoint Credit ripoff withholding information and complete blantant lying Westerville Ohio

first, the friendship double-wide manufatured home was only in my husband's name. We bought it for $45,500. we moved into the home in october of 1999. Our house payments were $588.99 per month. Greenpoint didn't have me sign a quick claim form to keep my name off but they did anyway.

i called one time to get the address to mail my payment to them because they sent us a letter telling us to mail all payments to the Westerville, OH address instead of memphis, TN. The woman named wendy told me that since my name wasn't on the deed i wasn't allowed to have their address. We eventually got it after my husband called her back and got it from her. There is the withholding.

In May of 2001 my husband kept asking Greenpoint if we could refinance to lower our payments. they told him continuously "No". So by the end of july of 2001 we could no longer afford the house and voluntarily forclosed the house.

The following year my husband called again and see if we could make payment arrangements for the month of july that we owed. He found out then from someone else that we could have refinanced the house and lower our payments. there was the lie!

She told my husband that we owed $47,500 total. for damage to the house (that was caused after we left)and the remainder of our mortgage. She said they sold the house for $1500. She then told my husband that if he paid $5000 down payment that payments would then be $689 a month. However, if he came up with $10,000, they would write off the loan.

He informed her that we didn't have the $5 or 10,000. She told us to steal, beg and borrow it. He hung up on her.

We went by the house a few days ago and who ever bought the place has separated it and didn't cover the inside with plastic. a lot of the windows have been boarded up because they were broken. the front and screen doors are gone and replaced with a door from one of the bedrooms. siding is missing and it is on its wheels. but still sitting there.

greenpoint lies and manipulates to get every dollar out of you. we lost the home we loved due to greenpoint. i even called and reported them to our Attorney State General. I never heard anything more from her.
