Same thing happened to me in November '03 at Greenway Dodge

AUTHOR: Mark - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 06, 2005

The finance guy tried the same trick with me. I told him specifically that I did not want any add-ons. No credit life, no extended warranty. It was a long day looking at cars and I didn't read what I was signing as closely as I should have. I negotiated on price and not payment, so when they showed me the car payment based on the price we agreed on, it looked about right. Several weeks later, after watching a report on Dateline about dishonest car dealers, I pulled out my contact and low and behold, that scum bag finance guy had added the credit life and extended warranty onto my deal, inceasing the total amount financed over $2000 more than our agreed on price. The next day, I went immediately to the dealership and told the same finance guy that he had pulled a fast one on me and that I wanted my contract to be changed. He told me that my contract had my signatures for accepting those items. I agreed, but I also told him he obtained those signatures under false pretenses. He then looked behind him at his desk showing me that they had a video camera recording the activity. He implied that our transaction was on tape. I immediately blew up and told him to pull the tape and I would prove to him he was a low life scum. About this time, the finance manager (or so he said) and asked what the problem was. I explained and told him I demanded to see the so called video tape the other guy was talking about. Of course there wasn't a tape, or at least not want they wanted to pull as it would expose them as the low life scum they are. To make a long story short, after conversation with my credit union and the finance manager, my contract was adjusted to what was agreed on orginally. And to the credit of the finance manager, he did credit me an additional $500, explaining to me that the finance guy who did my deal was going to be reprimanded as they didnt do business that way. But seeing as those this newest complaint happened in '04 and I bought my Durango in late '03, I see they are up to their old tricks again. I'd be interested in knowing from the person filing this complaint...do you remember the finance guy wearing a WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) wristband? What a joke...trying to portray to people you are a good god fearing man, so feel free to trust me, then be so bold faced as to screw someone out of their hard earned money. I would suggest to the guy filling out this complaint, I'm assuming you got your deal straightened out. If not, post back here again and I will help you, even get the same $500 refund. I have all the paperwork, even my credit union paperwork showing the orginal deal, and the revised one. Greenway Dodge...I am more than happy to pass on to anyone reading this..these people are scum and not to be trusted.

Bought a new Ford truck from Northside Ford in San Antonio in June of 04. It "came" with VIN etching and some type of insurance in case the vehicle was stolen. Signed the certificate. Get home it's not in my packet. The F&I guy Mohammed, "forgot" to put it in there. Went back last weekend and reminded him to mail it to me. Will wait this week to see if it arrives. Won't hold my breath. Will let you know if it arrives.
