As all the reports stated about Greenway Van Lines, we went through the same thing.
We did the contract, then we where told they do not do long distance and have to put money down. Movers showed up a day later, had no packing supplies. My husband had to help to pack etc. Horrible job on packing. We moved many many times in our life (Military, Government) but we never ever had broken items, damaged items. Money went from Estimate of $3500 up to $10000. They would do nothing without having the money. No Contact numbers, person, would not return calls and and and. They also left stuff behind, said moving truck is too small, have to come back and charge more and blaimed us for it. It is a aweful company and they have to be stopped.
We want to join/start a class lawsuit action against this company. There are more people out there, just need to find them. We not able to respond to any of this reports to get in contact with people.

Greenway Van Lines = Greenway Express Texas

AUTHOR: CHowards - ()

POSTED: Monday, June 03, 2013

I want to let everyone know that Greenway Van line is now Greenway Express Texas. They have got a new name but have the same old bad business policies. My elderly grandmother needed to come to live in Ohio to be closer to Family. We contacted Greenway Express because they were the best price in town and we had a small time frame to get my grandmother to Ohio as we were selling her house. They gave us one quote if we moved her in May ($1400) or if we waited in June ($4000+). My grandmother had to choose May for financial reasons. Shortly after that a gentleman was to come out and estimate the amount of articles. When he did not arrive my mother attempted contact with rep to find out what was going on and the rep said he tried to call and confirm with her and she hadn't responded. My mother has proof she responded through email more than 24 hours before the appointment as requested. Then rep stated it would be reschedule to which my mom said was unacceptable. When the guy showed up he tripled the estimate to around $4500. By the time of pickup it magically climbed to nearly $7000. Then they knocked off a couple of hundred because my mom helped and $400 for a dryer that got left behind. They instructed my mom on how to fill out contract and did not explain it at all. They were already loading the truck as they had her do this and were rushing her around. They knew our projected delivery date was that Sunday and they gave no indication that it was not reasonable. My grandmother issued them a check for 60% of the estimate. That was on a Thursday, my mom and grandma left Friday morning. My mother received an email stating the truck would leave Friday night or Saturday morning. My mother and grandma arrived in the wee hours of that Sunday. We waited most of Sunday and each time my mother called the voice mail is always full and no message can be left. One time she finally got to dispatch and learned they left supposedly at noon on Sunday. No explanation was given and that it would arrive the following Wed. or Thurs. On Weds we called for a status update, we then learned they still had not left TEXAS!!!! They needed a smaller truck, contract states there should only be delays due to maintenance. Just because they were under booked isn't OUR problem. When my mom stated we wanted a reduction for their lack of delivery of promises, they stated that it would be only $200 reduction and then threatened to dump my grandmother’s things right there! My mother was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Furthermore they decided instead of working with my mother to some middle ground they told her to take it up with legal. Because their bogus contract says they have 21 days to deliver. They all claim to be the supervisor/ owners and there is no real information available about them. They had already cashed my grandmother's check the day after they picked it up. So my mom told them we want $1500 off and if you don't show by the following Saturday it goes to $2000. This Sunday on June 2nd they told my mom that Ohio Transit Authority would not let them through and they were stuck in Louisville, KY due to weather. Later story changed that they were in Tennessee...then no response... Today is now Monday and still no furniture. My grandmother is running out of medication due to the majority of it being on the truck. She is having to sleep on the couch and has had to pay rent on an apartment she can’t live in yet. They are supposed to be in at 12-3pm and we are not holding our breath. My advice is find movers first before contemplating a move like this. 2nd Read contract thoroughly, if they pressure you make them wait any ways you’re the customer. 3rd check with the secretary of state to ensure validity of business existence. As of March 2013, they forfeited existence in Texas yet are operating in Texas.
