Growthink, apparently, has an usuaual approach to doing business.  Yes, they sell a product and take your credit card# as payment.  We're all familiar with that and for most businesses that's the end of it.  But the folks at growthink have decided to go a step further with your cc#, and if it's not illegal, it's certainly not a nice way to treat paying customers.  Here's their scam, and unless you read your receipt very carefully, you will not be aware of it:  as part of your purchase, by default, you are "enrolled" in a 30 day free trial of their "University."  At the end of this free trial, you are informed, in small print on the receipt only,  you will be charged $97 every month, until you cancel.   Note that you will not receive any emails from them reminding you that your "free trial" is about to expire.   You will also not receive any email receipts for the additional $97/month.  You will receive absolutely nothing from them about the $97.  It will, of course, show up on your bank statement.  That's how I discovered that I had fallen victim to their unusual money-making strategy.  I purchased an e-book from them and, like many of us, did not read the receipt carefully.  Three months later, I discovered three $97 charges against my credit card.  When I called to get these charges removed, they refused!   Finally, after much arguing, they agreed to remove one of the charges.  They really need to remove all 3, and stop this unethical practice!  The ultimate irony is that growthink's primary business is selling advice to small business owners!

Customer Service Manager Response

AUTHOR: Megan - ()

POSTED: Monday, August 25, 2014

My sincere apologies for your experience. We do not secretly add on an additional service during the purchasing process, the customer selects either ‘yes, add to my order’ or ‘no, thank you’. Our services strive to provide ongoing value for customers, and are in no way intended to rip-off anyone.

Once a determination was made that value was not derived from the program access, due to lack of awareness, a refund for the amount in question was issued immediately. As of today, we have processed a full refund for the membership fees.
