We went through the same thing. Guaranteed Rate approved our mortgage, then we jumped through hoop after hoop; sending and re-sending paperwork, calls and emails not returned, promises broken, and then they started missing the deadlines on closing. Missed the first one, and then when the second deadline was closing in, we learned that the agent had never completed the paperwork in the first place.
We looked online and contacted a VP in Guaranteed Rate corporate headquarters. I don't recall the gentleman's name, but he immediately returned our call and assured us that he would personally make sure this mortgage was finished as promised. And he did. Thanks to him and a patient seller, we were able to close on our home. The agent who did such a poor job no longer works at GR. I think he is still in the mortgage business in the Wilmington area and is probably still screwing people over. Good luck.

Im so very sorry you went through that but glad you got your house.After losing our home and everything we owned,Gauranteed Rate was an experience we didnt need.We are not interested in doing business with them,weve had more than enough.I personally wouldnt want a Mortgage through them if they were the last Mortgage Company on Earth.As far as were concerned,were done with them.Thier track record is really bad.I hope,now that you have your Mortgage,that they wont cause you problems.Id hate to see that happen to anyone.They need to pay for what theyve done too so many people.
