Beware if you are thinking of using Guardian Protection. I decided to go with them because they are a Pennsylvania company and that is our home state and i try to support business's from the area rather than pay out to big companies.  That type of thinking was a big mistake on my part, so i want to pass on the following info in hope that someone will read it and not make the same mistake i did.

I purchased there service in May of 2012, i also had ADT come to our home and give me price quotes.  Originally Guardian quoted me a price of $800 to install, this included 1 key pad, 1 key fob, 2 smoke and 4 door sensors. After waiting for about a month after the salesmen was here and i had not gotten back to him, he called me and dropped this price to $500, so i decided to take that deal.
When he came over with the contract, i only had to give him $250 and we signed a 5yr contract, with voice to voice and a service agreement, i believe it is 44.95 a month. I had the payments auto payed from my bank account.
The techs came out and installed, still no mention of the other $250 for install. After about 2 weeks we had problems with 1 door sensor not working, it would say Door Open when the door was shut. I called and they sent a tech out. He changed batteries in the sensor (brand new equipment was installed).  Again, after about a few weeks, same problem with same sensor. I called again, tech was sent, not sure what he did cause i wasnt home but wife was, temp fixed the problem for awhile. Again, in a couple of weeks, same problem with same sensor (  i might add that this door was the most critical door to be armed, as it is in a area away from the road and not able to be seen by anyone) I called tech again, they tell me that i had a balance of 20.00, i asked for what and  i was told for 2 previous visits, i complained that i had service agreement and they responded that it only covers price of equipment. After complaining a little bit, they agreed to waive the 10.00 fee for this particular visit, though they still wanted the 20.00 from the other 2 visits. Again the tech came (3rd time), this time he moves the sensor on the door, as i asked him about doing that the first time, since then there where no other problems with that door, YET!

After about a month from then, 1 of my smoke alrams beeps, on the panel it says Smoke Detector Failure, they send a Tech out, he checks the other smoke that hasnt had a problem and changes the batteries (he says just in case) then he puts a Brand new detector in for the one that i had the problem with. He goes on to tell me how they are having numerous issue's with these GE smoke detectors even giving out false alarms for No reason. Anyway he leaves, now another month goes by and same thing happens to the same Smoke, the Brand new one he just installed, i called and they send a tech, i happen to forget about the call that day and wasnt home, thing is, when you call to schedule this, it will probably take them atleast 3 or 4 days to get to you, atleast in my case it was. SO i miss the call, and i notice after 1 day that the smoke detector isnt having a issue anymore, so i let it go. Now it goes off again, Smoke Detector Failure at 9:30 at night, so they call and tell me so and patch me threw to CS, now the lady tells me that they wont send a tech cause i owe them $250.00 more dollars for the install, HAHA, are you Sh**ing me ?  So, i ask her 'why am i paying 500.00 dollars for this equipment ? She says ' cause thats what you agreed to'  well, i hit the roof. They could give me no good reason as to why this cost was so high to begin with, i also pointed out that i auto pay the bill every month and had purchased the 'Xtra service agreement' for the equipment. I tell her to send a tech out and take there equipment back, she tells me that the equipment is mine and they dont take it back. I tell her that i will stop all payments and get ADT in here, and she says that i have a 5 yr contract that i will have to pay $1000.00 for opting out.
I ask, "what good is this equipment if you dont monitor it ?" they say cause you can still use it, but it will only BEEP! 
I can goto kmart and buy smoke detectors for 40 bucks. I wanted the security of knowing someone is there if we need them. Im tired of these companies pushing around the average working class person, charging them xtra high fees with poor customer service!! We get ripped off everywhere we turn these days.
Bottom Line : they Refuse to send a Tech until i Pay them 250.00 dollars, also they are charging me 10.00 everytime they are here no matter what the case is, even though i pay them for a service protection in my bill.  I intend to file report with the BBB, please go check that website before you decide on this company, wish i had done so. I intend to contact them 1 last time and attempt to have them solve this problem, and then i will stop all payments to them and file suit with my attorney as they are in breach of contract since i have there service agreement and they will not honor it.

Remember, ive had this system for 5 months, we have a had a total of 5 Tech calls, that is 1 per month, i dont call that Security in knowing that something is wrong every month, Do you ?
