Guardsman Furniture Protection I purchased the Guadsman 5yr Plan in August 07. This year, frame broke, wheel fell off, & arm rest wiggles. They refused to fix it. Said it was normal wear & based it on stains that I haven't seen. Stains I don't see were the reason for not fixing my chair that has fallen apart. Penhook, Virginia

Two years ago, on August 14, 2007, I purchased the Gold 5yr Protection Plan from Guardsman to go with my furniture.  I figured I could use them for stains with two kids. This year, in August 2009, I reported my chair frame was broken and the wheel had fallen off, along with the arm wiggling. Also, a spring broke in my couch. I guess when one thing breaks everything falls apart.  I will admitt that my dog tore a hole in the chair like the day after it broke, but I didn't expect them to fix that and didn't ask them to.

I sent the request in for the chair to be fixed and about a week later they sent a letter refusing to fix it.  They said it was due to normal wear on the chair and the couch.  This is based on accumulated stains that were supposedly on the furniture that I am still to see.  I have never reported a stain to them and the service guy didn't see stains.  This guy was at my house for approximately 5 minutes.  He was scared to death because his gas light had been on for twenty minuntes and he didn't know where the gas stations were.

He bounced all over my couch without the cushions and said he couldn't find a busted spring and turned my chair upside down to look at it.  There was a very small hole where the frame had broken and the wheel came off, but that hole wasn't big enough.  The guy made the hole bigger to take a picture of it and didn't bother to fix the hole he just ripped in my chair.  He also took a picture of the area where he was told the busted spring was and where he bounced around.

When I talked to the woman on the phone to ask for my next three years of payment back, she said they couldn't do that, because I purchased it from the furniture company.  When I asked her about supposed wear of my furniture, she said it was the accumulation of stains and overall look of the furniture.  And this is all she would say no matter what the question was.

I would assume this was what the service guy said, because he didn't want to come back.  He is suppose to come back and fix the hole he made in my chair, but it has been almost a week and no contact from him, yet.  He was only ten minutes from a gas station.  He had also contacted my husband for directions and my husband told him the fastest and best way to go.  This service guy refused to listen and said he would follow his GPS.

Our address isn't even listed on the GPS, but he chose to listen to it instead of the person who lived their.  He took himself about 20 minutes out of the way and was about 15 minutes late.  By the time he got there his gas light had be on for 20 minutes and he didn't even want to be there.  This guy was sent to do the repair, but every 30 seconds he would say I did'nt bring the stuff with me to fix it, but he had a camera.  His intention was not to fix my furniture, ever.

Five minutes later, when he left he asked where the nearest service station was, and I told him.  It was only 10 minutes up the road.  If he would have listened to my husband he could have got gas and mad the appointment on time.

And I thought you could always get money back from services that are not rendered and are still in the future.
