1.) I've used Gusto.com, Gusto (former name ZenPayrool) for 2 separate businesses.

The first time I changed states. Gusto never closed out the payroll account of the previous state. Then huge fines, penalties and back taxes were due based on estimated failed to pay amounts.

This took hundred of hours to fix. Most of this was based on reassurance by the "Gusto Care Team" NOT to worry, the payroll people do their jobs and if it needed to be closed out it woudl be.

2.) After 4 months I started getting nasty collection, tax levy letters threatening they will levy my house, business and seize my property.

3.) I go back to Gusto and ask them what is going on. You told me you would close accounts with another state. After speaking to the second "supervisor"

he said, "no, I'm sorry. You need to go back and figure out how to resolve it with your old state. There is nothing we can do."

4.) The people in Gusto.com Care Team talk out their back side and say anything to get you off the phone. The often "double talk" telling 2 different things at the same time and talk in circles.

5.) The Gusto Zen Payroll customer care and customer service make promises and commitments to fix problems (90% of the time caused by them) and never follow through. You call back and the next person says, "heeeh?" "I don't have an record of that." "Who did you talk to?"

6.) What is typical of Gusto payroll at gusto.com is the people who answer the phone have no power or training to actually solve an issue. They must email the issue to someone who hides behind the scenes and refuse to talk to customers. That is, the people and business they've harmed due to their negilience.

7.) One of the worse aspects of doing business and using the Gusto.com ZenPayroll service is the actual payroll service. About 3 times per year after I complete a payroll and pay the payrolll taxes I get an email from (one of those people behind the scenes you can NEVER talk to). They say "we need too adjust your last payroll because of their mathematic error and they will be debting your account for usuallly hundreds or even thousands of dollars and give you a time frame of a few days.

8.) I thought these problems  were a one time thing, but now have personally experienced it over and over again for 2 years.

9.) My account has dumb dumb outdated "alerts" to "verify my bank account" from 2014 (at the time of this writing it is 2017).

10.) Recently I was asked to verify my bank account which I did. Then they asked for extra steps even after being a (regretably long term customer) to verify my account by uploading private, sensitive documents like complete month of a busines bank statement, voided checks, etc.

Still 2 weeks later my account is locked. I can't run payroll, but they have no problem debiting my account for $100 per month for their payroll service.

11.) Update: Just 2 weeks ago I received demand notices from my new state I've ONLY been in for a few months. They said" "Due to mathematical errors in your payroll, you now owe $1,3000 plus penalties and interest. ---- Oh thank you Gusto.com Gusto Zen Payroll again and your team of complete goons!

12.) I hope it was worth it to you to have people answer the phone who only forward problems to administrators who do nothing but ignore you and you never hear back on from items like I detailed above in 1-12. ----NOTE: Not once did any responsibile party or administrato or payroll person ever respond to these complaints. Instead the people who answer the phone with a high school education or less talk to you, say sorry and say they will forward back to the incompetent managers and administrators (who created this mess and keep hiding from the problem while they ruin your business, cost you thousands in taxes and lost time away from your business).

AVOID this company is you don't want to waste weeks/months of time troubleshooting Gusto.com Gusto ZenPayroll's managerial and employees incompetencies and complete inaccuracy of their payroll software....which they remind me over and over again is not accurate and they must make further adjustements and debt my bank for more taxes and fees.
