Ok so Im filling out apps for a student loan online, out of the blue a gentleman by the name of Peter Hamilton who is the Senior Loan Consultant for Harbor Lending Group calls me and says I've been approved for my loan. He asks if I remember filling out an application for them, heck Ive filled out so many who can keep track! He then proceeds to give me the loan terms, great terms I'm thinking, then he hits me with the scam....he needs $2,231.00 upfront which is 10 months of payments on the loan. He faxed me over the loan documents which look very very professional.

Upon recieving them I did a little investigating! Their website does not exist! BBB in Ga has no reports on them at all, and the only other report I found for them is listed here. Even though there is not much info on these people, you still have to beware. Upfront payments for a loan is illegal! This is a scam. Im lucky, I didn't send any money to them, I asked questions first! I was told they needed the loan documents first, then they would inform me of where to send the money to by money gram or I could send it in the mail!

If you get a call from someone from this place do not respond to them. They will take your money and your banking info and run! Believe me, my husband was a victim of one of these types of scams last year, (he really isn't very computer literate and had no idea what he was doing) and I ended up paying some fools cable bill in Canada...I live in friggin Indiana!!!
