I received a letter with a check in the amount of $2980.00. The letter said I had won a lottery (that I do not remember signing up for) As my Dad always says "If it seems to good to be true, it probably is."

I looked on this Rip Off Report website and found two other people with the same story. The letter says the money is for administrative payment and clearance fees.

It looks like a perfectly good check. However the letter is very unprofessional! Mispelled words, some words not capitalized that should have been, little hinky stuff like that.

I do not know what the scam is, honestly I am afraid to call the number as I have heard of people zapping your phone bill in some scams.

Anyone know how this scam works? I would like to know.
