Contacted by telephone 3 or 4 months ago by a fellow identifying himself as a member of my high school Alumnus.  He pitched that he was offering a directory of former classmates and needed to update some of my info.  I reluctantly provided the info he was asking for, but declined on the exhorbitantly expensive Alumnus Directory.  The school I attended was Robert E. Lee in San Antonio TX.  I did however agree to a CD containing the directory information for about 18 to 20.  The amount charged to my Credit Card was $36.06 though.

When I got the CD, it was for Robert E. Lee high school, but this one was in Springfield, VA, not San Antonio TX, where my old high school is located.  But wait, there's even more astonishing info about the scamsters and fraud masters.  They had added my name to the list of students in the Springfield, VA school, where I did not attend.  Most of the other information they published on the CD was either  erroneous or simply made up.

I telephoned the company and very strongly demanded my money back.  I was told that they would refund my money if I could get the CD they had sent me back to them within 5 days.  I mailed the disk via priority mail with proof of delivery requested.  They received the disk within 3 days.  I then filed a formal complaint with the Chesapeake VA Better Business Bureau, who did get the company to post a credit to my credit card account.

Bottom line is check these folks out before buying anything.  They will lie their asses off to make a sale, and, which is painfully obvious, they will falsify records to make a sale.  Check with someone you know who was active in your old high school about alumnus information.  I found the same information I wanted online at no cost, offered by the real alumnus association.  Can't believe that this so-called Harris Connect is still in business.  They are frauds, crooks, and scamsters.  Be warned...
