Harris county Toll Road Authority I had fee on my vehcile for $11.75 and have been charge $621.75 and missed a pmt and and addition charge of $500.00 has been charged! I can not get my vehcile regisiration Houston Texas

Pretty easy solution. Ride the surface roads and stop complaining. 

If you choose to enter a tollway you should expect to pay. If you are not checking your account more than once every other year... than you have other issues.

Obamah Care will not pay your unpaid tolls. That is left up to the people who sign the front of checks and not just the back of them.

Hello all, I just wanted to say that just because the gentleperson wasn't a hot head and out for blood, like the ignorant person who gave such a canned response in typical lawyer fashion, it doesn't mean that his complaint is not legitamate. I too have had a problem with the way the HCTRA has conducted business. If you ask me, it is nothing less than extortion and someone has to put a stop to it. If it weren't for people like this then people like me would be in the dark as to the practices that these bullies are using to cheat people out of money. I plan on contacting all the media outlets that I can because this is an outrage. How can somebody be given the authority to impose penalties that would hinder said person from being able to earn a living in order to pay the fines that are being used to coerse said person to pay ridicules fees. Now if the invoice would have said fines we would have had a different battle but it does say fees. This is precisely how they will lose their credibility in court. There is no way that you can justify an $11 fee for sending out an invoice. Then, on top of that they want to impose another fee for $14 for the same exact thing only now they are calling it a third party fee. Which in laymans terms means that they have retained some jerk to show up in court to try and get this minor violation taken care of. They are already trying to charge you for the lawyer fees and if you pay and dont go to court to contest the charges being imposed upon you then he gets paid for nothing more that sending an invoice out at $14 a pop. This is the kind is sleeze bags that you are dealing with. In closing, DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. You have a wealth of information at your fingertips, use it to make a difference in our world. These tyrants cannot be left to do what they do to people like me and you. Stand up for justice!

Logically i look at the report and i ask myself a couple questions:

• Why is you knew in 12/2006 that you didnt call then and pay?
• Why did you wait until 05/2013 to place this comment on this site with what looks to be no prompting?

As someone who is very familiar with the tolling process I know first hand that if you had called when you knew about the issue - the fees would have been waive and no collection efforts would have been sought. This wo me would indicate that it is a failure on your part to maintain your financial responsibility to the ownership of the EZtag.

Six (6) tolls are refered to but then no others. It must therefore be assumed that you either discontinued using the tollway or you updated your tag and upon receiving notice of violation you again did not contact the agency to ask about the process to clear the tolls. Which is the process given that once a toll is recorded as a violation it does not re-bill but rather remains as a violation.

I also find it interesting that this complaint is of an event that happened over 6 years ago. I dont expect an answer but do find it humorous the desire to make comment in 2013. To rack up thos kinds of fees you would have had to left to violations unattended to for a long time in order for it to impact your vehichle registration.

It is my humble opinion that this is neglect on the part of the consumer to maintain financial responsibility, regardless of motive or circumstances. Therefore to place this report out here without all the facts from which a person could fully understand the cause and effects... should have never been posted.

Make a mistake and admit to it... dont look for a place to rant and get a sympothy pat on the back or a hug with a consoling remark.
