My husband went into Harris Ford on Firday to check out new trucks.  He was railroaded to one of the most expensive RAPTOR's they had.  Told him to try it out for the weekend and if he didn't like it, no problem they would tearup paperwork.  He attempted to return the vehicle as it was not what we wanted and way to expensive (could not afford) on Saturday and was told "your trade in is Locked in service and they don't have a key"  He was told this by the manager.  He went in again on Monday and they said "Sorry it was a done deal and he bought the truck".

We are screwed but not down.  Will be working all angles to get out of this phoney deal.

Do not go to Harris Ford Ever!!!!!

Railroaded

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 20, 2017

It is really easy to be "railroaded" when your husband provides them the track and the engine.

I really hope that your Husband is relaying this story to you and is intentionally not telling you the entire story.

As if this is what happened you have made him out to be perhaps the world's most gullible car buyer and one who you should never trust to do any sort of "negotiation" on their own ever again. I am not saying this to be mean, but to hopefully protect you from his future negotiations. As you could honestly end up with a handful of "magic" beans.

But seriously. They didn't Shanghai him off of the street. They didn't hold him at Gun Point. They didn't threaten to take your First Born. If he knew it was too expensive and not what he wanted he could have done something very simple at ANYTIME during the process..STAND UP and WALK OUT. But instead he let the salesman talk him into something that is now what you are claiming he didn't want. This pretty much defines "Buyers Remorse".

If the car was "locked" in the Service area at THEIR business..yes someone has a key. If he stood his ground and had the paperwork to back it up, if they refused to give him his car back it could have been considered Grand Theft. This tells us that he in fact had nothing in WRITING that stated he could return it. So unless you get lucky and get out of this deal somehow, basically "Congratulations and enjoy your new car".

Yes, you can say "But he was told..". Unfortunately what he was "told" does not override what he signed in the form of a written contract.
