I made a simple purchase of a video game for my children at the Meridian Idaho location of Hastings. I was sold a used game as a new game. The game I recieved was unwrapped and the clerk retrieved the contents of the case from a drawer behind the counter. the contents were rubber banded together, then crammed into the empty case and sold to me at a new price. I talk with the clerk and told him that I thought the game looked used but he argued with me and tried to reassure me that it was a new and unused game. He then proceeded to shove the case with crammed contents into a plastic sleeve, just like the ones all the USED games are wrapped in, sealed the sleeve and proceeded to take my money.

I left the store upset at the fact that first no one addressed my concern about the game being used, and second because I knew they were lying about the game being in unused condition. All games I have previous purchased, even online, have come in a SEALED wrapping with additional SEALS taped around the games case. The game I was given had nether of these seals and as I stated before looked and by evidence alone was not a NEW game.

I contacted the store later and asked for a manager. I took two people picking up the phone before one finally told me that the manager was in a meeting with and employee issue. I told her that I would wait but she should tell the manger that I was an upset customer and that he needed to take my call. She put me on hold for well over 5 minutes. Then another girl named Brook answered the phone and presented herself as the manager and that she could help me. I tried to explain the Brook, who I would later find out was a psuedo manager, about the game being used but being charged full price for a new game. She wouldn't even let me finish talking before she interjected trying to tell me that there was no way it could be used and that it was there policy to sell all games this way. I tried several times to get her to listen and Brook would just interupt. I did not even raise my voice to this supposed fruad of a manager. Yet she accused me of being difficult and hung up on me when I tried one last time to reason with her.

I called the store back and asked specifically for Brook, who refused to take the call, as I could hear her in the back ground whispering and snickering about how she had got me off the phone. I was put on hold for a few minutes and finally got to talk to whom I would later find out was the actual Manager. Jason took my call and presented himself as the manager. I again presented my case that I had been sold a used game at a new game price. He also argued with me about the condition of the game and how it was not a used game even given the appearance of the game. He asked me if the sticker said used and I replied no but it could have easily been a mistake judging by the condition of the packaging prior to the sell. Not feeling like he was being up front with me I asked for his managers name a number of which he refused to give. He accused me of judging him and said justified it by saying he had not done anything to deserve being reported. My rebuttal is that first he allowed his clerk to sell me a used game at the new game price. Second you allowed someone who was not a manager to take a call and then treat me badly and hang up. Not only did you allow it but you admitted to actually directing Brook to take the call and deal with the issue how she saw fit. Third, you think that your justified taking those actions because you were dealing with an employee issue that could have waited, what happened to customers come first, or your 100% product garantee. Your own garantee states: New Product
We 100% GUARANTEE all new products to be in new condition and in the original packaging.

Yet mine was not! And I am suppose to trust that Jason is going to take care of this issue. He refused to worrect the problem by finding a reasonable solution and refused to give me his superiors number so I could contact them and get a product that should be garanteed. Do not shop at this location. Jason is a liar, Brook is a fraud and they will sell you used games for the new game price and when you call them on the carpet the claim they you are the one to blame.
