College America Deception, Lies and Broken Promises...This School Cannot be Trusted Devner, Colorado

I really don't know where to start!  I will start by urging anyone interested in enrolling at College America to please reconsider.  I am the parent of a College America student.  Problem is, we're not sure if she's still a student or not!

In the beginning, the Admissions Counselors are extremely convincing that College America is the ultimate fast paced education for high quality students looking to achieve their goals in record time.  This is so far from the truth.  My student has been on an emotional roller coaster since the day she started the Nursing Program.  Don't let College America fool you!  They say that they are an Accredited school, but not ALL the programs are accredited.  In fact, the Nursing Program is not accredited.

After completing all the Prerequisite courses, with a 3.5 GPA, my student was told that the Core Nursing Program scheduled for January 2012 has been canceled until further notice.  In the meantime, we received notification that she was dropped from the Program and no longer considered a student at this school.  Besides what we qualified for in financial aid, we also have been paying a gap tuition directly to College America.  This tuition was approximately $1,400, but now that College America dropped her as a student, the tuition has increased to over $5,000, in additional fees due to no fault of the student.  In addition to this, we are now in student loan debt in excess of $10,000, which will require payment to begin in less than six months.

Federal Student Loans should not have to begin reimbursement until six months after the student Graduates, unless they drop out of their own accord.  In addition to this, the credits for the Prerequisite courses are not transferrable and/or accepted at any other Colleges due to College America's lack of Accreditation.

To make matters even more disheartening, we received a call just yesterday stating that we haven't made a payment since September.  This is completely untrue!  The school began an online payment option which we have been utilizing, but once again, the school is not posting the payments.  Just another example of their incompetence.

I can go on and on with all the lies and deception at this school, along with the incompetent administration (they have been through more than 3 Deans since last April).  However, my point is simply this:  There are much better educational institutions in Colorado to consider.  Please do not put your trust in College America!  I guarantee you will be disappointed in the Faculty, Staff and Administration at this school!
