My son was not eligible for Obamacre and just wanted to sign up with Medicaid. Someone at Healthcare.gov hooked him up with someone representing Health Care Innovations who took his account and soc sec info and said he'd be charged $130 and $69 a month thereafter. Then I checked out reviews and saw hundreds of complaints about denial fo payment, prescription cards that pay nothing or next to nothing, and difficulty cancelling, plus it was not considered (according to one review) to be a minimum essential care coverage that would avoid a penalty. I told him to cancel immediately and the guy suddenly was too busy to deal with him, finally told him he'd cancelled it verbally and said he would send him an email confirmation at a later time but that he would be charged $130, but credited within 30 days. I didn't trust that response and told him to contact a representative. It turns out it wasn't cancelled and that the account, with all my son's personal information, was opened under another person's name (Travis 'soandso'). The agent at the company even said that was strange. Anyway the agent updated it with his proper name and then my son was able to go in and cancel it himself and he wasn't charged. I am not sure where the fraud lies here (the company or the agent), but it does not at all seem like real insurance. So be careful if you are connected to John Ramirez for this insurance and research the BBB reports and complaints before you sign up. Even their website says they are all about the shareholders which means (to me) signing up as many suckers, and paying out as little as possible. It appears they have no location - except for a website https://www.hiiquote.com/about_us.php
