I received an advertisement from Humana Health Insurance whose address was Louisville, KY 40270 and decided to go online and check out their health insurance and got through to the ehealthinsurance.com where there were a number of health insurance plans available.  I duly selected the Humana one and typed in my details expecting to be able to see what plans were available but NO the phone rang and it was someone calling about the info I had put into the computer and they wanted to help me with a plan.

He then got my name wrong which sent up the first red flag and then although I had given some details online he wanted to know more about my husband and he started to turn up his voice and was getting impatient when I told him I merely wanted to see online some prices for insurance.  He then asked me how much I am paying and I told him and he then went into a whole tirade about me taking an insurance called Health Option One and when I told him I had never heard of it the volume in his voice went up and he would not stop talking and talking and talking.  I couldn't get any sense out of him when I told him the people here wouldn't know who this was he ranted on about it being a union insurance and group open plan and I was just in time to obtain it.  My red flags were all over me by now and I told him that I needed to get off the phone because I didn't like the way he was speaking and he told me that he didn't like my questions!  I then hung up on him.  This is a first rate scam of some sort and now judging by other reports I have read my instincts saved the day for me.  I will call Humana and tell them what has occured.

Trying to make a sale is a scam?

AUTHOR: stu - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, December 09, 2011

The Health Option One plan is licensed in 35 states and is a blessing to many who do not qualify for major medical or can't afford it. If the poster bothered to read the rebuttals she would realize that many, after actually reading their plan materials, save substantially on their medical bills. If one decided that any company with a few online "complaints" was a scam, then any such company should be avoided despite having thousands of satisfied customers. This has nothing to do with Humana but rather a website that may be posing as Humana to get leads.
