I purchased the hearing aids on the basis of a trial period of 45 days dring which I could return the hearing aids for a full refund. I accidently broke the hearing aids, and Hearing Planet claims they are irrepairable. They will replace them without charge, but they will no longer be under warranty.

I do not want the hearing aids back because they are too fragile and will proably break again.

when you purchase a hearing aid it will be warranted by the manufacturer for at least one year. this warranty covers DEFECTS IN MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP only! Hearing Planet also gives their patients "loss and damage" insurance coverage for a period of time. when you broke your hearing aid the warranty did not cover the repair because there was not a problem with materials or workmanship. you admitted you broke it. that is when the insurance coverage would have "kicked in." if you use the insurance to replace the aid, it can only be replaced ONCE. then that replacement cancels that insurance coverage. the manufacturer will replace the aid only once. they didn't rip you off.

a hearing aid isn't indistructable! they are fragile little machines that make all sounds louder and you must exercise some reasonable amount of care with them or you will have poor experiences with them. be careful with your aids. they are fragile. GET IT? this is a good company. the manufacturer will only refund moneys in certain circumstanses, like within the first 30 days if they do not work and a replacement does not work, then they may refund your moneys. this does not sound like the case with this person. he broke his aid and then wanted his moneys returned. it don't work thata way bud!!

Patient Received a New Set of Hearing at No Charge with Repair Warranty

AUTHOR: Bill Brownie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 09, 2007

Our loss and damage policy is clearly stated on the invoice when the customer receives hearing aids. The policy is actually stipulated by the manufacturer of the hearing aids and is beyond our control.

We processed a loss and damage claim for the patient at no charge (normally $400 per hearing aid deductible).

Warranty coverage for repairs is still in effect.

Thank you,

Bill Brownie
