Heart Check of America Out of Business, Conrad Acceptance still taking payments Irvine, California

Last week I was contacted by an employee of Heartsavers.  I spoke with the employee and I was advised that Heart Check of America had gone out of business in April of 2011.  Heartsavers moved into the building and Heart Check had left them a list of customers that had purchased a contract with them at the Irvine Facility.  They advised me if I would like to continue receiving services, that they would honor the contract, but that I needed to contact Conrad Acceptance and discontinue making payments to them and make payments directly to them.   Why weren't the customers notified?

Today, 08/01/11, I contacted Conrad Acceptance Corporation and asked them why they continued taking payments for a company that had gone out of business in April.   I was advised that Heart Check did not go out of business, that Health Screening Plus had taken over the contracts.  I told the rep that I had received a phone call last week from Heart Savers who advised me that Heart Check of America had gone out of business in April.  Conrad Acceptance gave a phone number for Health Screening Plus of 888-360-9521.  I called the number and it was a recording, indicating that they assumed the contracts for Heart Check of America customers and that they would be contacting customers to  make appointments and advise which facilities would be available to them as soon as they're licensed and compliant with each state.  Why am I obligated to make payments to a company that isn't even set up or licensed in the states yet?
