on december 12 1999, i placed an order to heartlandamerica, which included item #6939, a 'welbilt' breadmaker. the following correspondence explains the situation:

heartland america:

in spite of my request of 15 february to cancel my last order you have charged my
credit card the amount of $252.92 on 17 february. it seems that you do not believe that
i have taken your attitude seriously.

that explanation is not good enough. i knew that the item was no longer available
because i had inquired about that order on jan.5th.
* a postal label is not good enough, send for it at my house and refund my credit card
* put a stop to my last order and refund my credit card
* cancel my membership immediately and remit a full refund to my credit card
* i definitely do not like your proceeding without my authorization
* i do trust that you will take care of this matter at once.

thank you, sixto e. moreira

Dear Sir,
The Welbilt item is no longer available. We sent you the Sunbeam item which
is $49.99 with a $20.00 rebate, as the substitute. If you are note happy
with it, let us know and we would be more than happy to send a postal label
for return shipping.
Thank you
Heartland America

part of the above order of 12/07/99 was item no b 6939, a welbilt
convection bread maker at a cost of $49.99. first you informed me it
was on back order, then after my inquiry i was informed that the item
was no longer available . that you had been unable to contact me about
it.
yesterday at the post office i received a package with a sunbeam
breadmaker, not convection and priced at $44.99. i was not asked if this
product was acceptable and furthermore it is priced at $29.99 in your
catalog.
i am very disturbed by your action and expect an immediate explanation.
