Heartland Security is a security contractor.  They are paid to provide security patrol or provide guards for a client and they get paid to provide this service.  On several occassions they have been caught where they have entered times that they reported to have been on the property, and their was NO way they were they because they property had incidents involving medical emergencies or fire department responses and their report indicated nothing about the property having fire trucks and ambulances with their lights on all over the property.  The offices have been vandalized and burglarized and the alarm going off when they have reportedly been on the property as well.

They fax or email their reports to the properties.  They do this so they can edit times before the reports go to the property. They don't drop reports because they would then get caught making times up, because they can't get the dropped report out of the secured night drop.

Several times, maintenance would try and keep an eye out for the patrol service and the next day the times would not match up with the maintenance personnels eye witness accounts.

Having spoke to some of the ex-employees that have moved over to other companies, I was also told that they would be instructed to list a patrol on the property even if they just drove by on the highway.  When the owner was notified (JG) he was very evasive and tried to explain that their contract indicates an average of X hits (depending on what your contract reads) that does not mean you are guaranteed to get that amount of patrol hits. Only the average. The overall experience with this company is that they do not provide the service that they are getting paid to provide.  Any property can verify this by spending a little time and verifying the times that they are on the property. I have spoken to several of their properties and many of them feel the same way. If you find a real company that really does what they are contracted to do, then keep them.  They probably won't be cheap. You really do get what you pay for.  Heartland even has something called an extended foot patrol.  They are supposed to be on the property for 1 hour, walking the property.  We were at the pool and saw them come onto the property and they were there for 15 minutes.  We looked at the report the next day and it was indicated on the report that this was the time that they had completed the extended foot patrol.  The management team constantly has excuses not answers .

Ex-Employees give the best info

AUTHOR: watchdog - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, June 03, 2014

As the title states.  Ex-employees give a wealth of information about the business dealings of a company.  They are the eyes and ears of a company.  They know where all the skeletons are hidden.  They would know if people would go Thailand from time to time.  They know the finances, the reporting, the accounts, the customers, they know it all.  Don't ever dismiss an ex-employees information, sure they may be disqruntled.  That does not mean that what they know is not the truth, it means that they are just telling what they know.  Having been a person with experience with this company (client or employee?)  I know that these reports are NOT false.  But you need not take any persons experience.

If you are looking for a company, have them checked with BBB, have them checked by your peers, ask the police, check with the State of Texas, and yes check with ex-employees.  Even some of the current ones.  Does it tell you something if MOST of a companies ex-employees have nothing good to say about a company?  Look at GOOGLE or APPLE, they are highly rated among there employees and there ex-employees.  As one of the reports indicated, check for yourself. Watch and see if they come when they say they come.  Trust but verify.  Put in a covert camera, put in a obvious camera.  Make them prove they were there.

Put in a punch clock with a camera, and make them punch in every time they are on property.  Be creative.  They will comply if they are there, they will protest if they are not. Speak to other clients and have them do the same.  Will not be able to give everyone what they are contracted to do.  You can do the math.  12 hours per night, lets say 15 clients on a patrol route and they all get an avg. of 3 hits per night.  That's 45 patrols, not including foot patrols.  That's 3.75 hits per hour.  Now there's drive time and the properties are not clumped all together.

Plus you get calls and that takes away from that 12 hours, and the officer has to take a break as well.  So let's take 4 hours out for breaks, calls, making contacts, light reports, locking pools,  and drive times.  Now we are at 45 patrols in 8 hours.  That's  5.63 hits an hour or 10.66 minutes per hit.  So you might get almost 32 minutes of them on the property every night.  That's if something major on another property doesn't happen and they are on the other property for 30, 45, or even 60 minutes.  Keep in mind some of these patrol areas can be large.  Do the math.  Be smart and don't believe what the company tells you.  Verify for yourself.

There is plenty of tech out there that can do this.  I know this, if you are getting it cheap then they have to get more to cover there expenses and that means more patrols nightly.  Insurance costs, fuel, those nice car lease payments, all money.  I knew a manager that would call them and then time them.  Then match it to the report. Give them there own card key on to the property and then check when its used, and if you have a camera then make sure that you see their car.  I remember they even said that they used un-marked cars on the properties as well and so they were there but we didn't know it cause we must've been looking for the marked car.  Very resourceful  We fired them!

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Heartland was the best company I ever worked for

AUTHOR: Lost in translation - ()

POSTED: Saturday, July 13, 2013

I was employed by Heartland in 2009. after 2 months on the job I was injured in an incident in North East Dallas. Heartland gave me time to recover before trying to get me back on the job. They took care of me. Sadly I could no longer preform to their standards and I knew it. I left quietly and with out any complications.

I have never known any officers leave reports blank for any reason. This company uses two forms of reports for patrol and one for standing guards. This ensures that not only are the accounts covered but that patrol is not left wanting for standing guards.

I will personally vouch for this company. Thank you Heartland.

#1 UPDATE Employee

Hoax Entry

AUTHOR: Heartland - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, October 10, 2011

In regards to the report based on this website against Heartland Private Services, Inc. we categorically claim this is false information.  Other than the first two sentences of the article it is all incorrect.

Heartland is a great company to work for, and is run with integrity.  With services provided in Dallas, Ft.Worth, and Houston Heartland provides a quality service, second to no one.  Heartland can provide anyone with numerous references of this quality service upon request.

It is sad when an anonymous person can spew such slander, without providing any specific information.  All the information given in this report is vague and does not provide any truth regarding our company being a "ripoff".  This report is obviously submitted by a disgruntled ex-employee who could not qualify with these high standards, or from a frustrated competitor who sees this as their only way to obtain business.

I challenge this writer to actually call the Heartland office and speak to someone in management if they really have any issues.
