Heartland What a blessing to the American consumer!

My wife was contacted by phone by this outfit and thought she was speaking to another company with whom she had a magazine subsciption. Soon, charges began to appear on her credit card and as she did not recognize the name, she contacted VISA to negate the charges. This was done.

Soon, we began to receive letters and more charges to the card. We tried to call, but were sent to voicemail and no return call. The next call to VISA resulted in VISA connecting us to Heartland and we were told she made an "oral contract" which could not be cancelled as the magazines had already been ordered, to the tune of $678. Asked them again to cancel and mailed a letter to that effect. Began to receive nightly calls from Heartland.

Contacted BBB of Iowa and Iowa Attorney General. BBB contacted them and their response was that they were willing to work with us to structure the payoff. No help. Have not heard from AG yet.
