In April 2011, I sent a deposit to purchase a kitten from Heather Kerns.  She told me that I was 4th in line to select a kitten from two litters.  Months went by and I did not hear from her.  Since I am hearing impaired, I must rely on email.  After several emails to her, she finally responded and informed me that I can have the 4th kitten from the first litter because all of the rest have been sold.  I did not want that kitten. She also indicated she had emailed me when the litter was born.  I emailed her back that I never received the email and could she resend it.  She would not.    She told me she would notify me when the next litter was born.  Again months went by, no email from Heather.  I emailed her and again, she claimed she emailed me and told me about the litter.  I asked for a copy and again she did not send it.

In the meantime, I did purchase another ragdoll because I was waiting forever and she was just refusing to communicate with me in a timely manner.

Several months have evolved and again, I had to email her.  She finally responds that she sent me an email that I would have the pick of a litter in January.  Again, I did not receive it so asked her to resend it.  Again she did not send it.

There have been nasty emails from Heather that I can produce to anyone who wants to read them.  Now, she is refusing to sell me a kitten and refusing to return my deposit.  She is saying because I bought another kitten, I defaulted on the contract.  Interestingly enough, she changed her website to agree with her statement AFTER she sent me the email.

Now she wants to report me to the police.  She won't communicate with me in a sensible manner, she won't sell me a kitten and she won't return my deposit. 

She also claims I gave her a virus/spam in September, which I did not.  I recommended to her that she find out who did it and have them prosecuted but she insists it was me.

Heather Kerns is difficult, changes her website to agree with the nonsense she emails me, refuses to return my deposit and refuses to sell me a kitten.  Is this a responsible breeder?

Please let me know if anyone else has had trouble with her.  I am at wits end.

This woman Cathy told me she was deaf after we argued but not before this. I felt odd about this whole situation because she did not tell me in the begining so I was searching on old emails from her and found one where she said she had her phone number on the check that she sent me for a deposit for a kitten back in April.  I emailed her to ask her if she had her number on her check recently to verify that she was being honest and she said there was no phone number on her checks but the email I have she says her phone number and address is on the check. I assume there would not be a land line number on it due to her being deaf, she stated that she only had a cell phone for texting but no number was on her checks so I feel now I was lied to and tricked into promising her a non refundable deposit which I am sending back anyway because I would never sell to her. If this was a misunderstanding I would like to figure out why she would tell me two diff stories about a phone number, she stated her husband could not hear as well but I don't know if she has anyone else living with her that can. I would try and trace her check to see whats going on and I will be doing so with my bank, Its crazy for her to tell me she had a phone number on her checks but then said she did not.

I had told her that if I have to refund her then I will have to sue her for slander because I would be out 150.00 plus with damages on my name, if she can in fact hear she never called me to see what was taking so long to complete the sale she claimes I need to have ethics and not worry about this report well the ethics have gone down the toliet due all she has done to me. WHERE ARE HER ETHICS AS A HUMAN BEING!! 

About her email pretending to be a lost customer of mine and lies were told.

what is really horrible is that she sent me an email pretending to be a customer who lost my business. I may have already wrote this but I needed to add more to it, I emailed her recently to ask her who that person was, knowing I knew it was her I caught her stating she did not know who it was, the email stated that I slandered many people on the net and used foul language and was nasty, she must know that this is slander and I will press charges, the person said I lost there business due to me being so horrible to others and it was her not anyone else because I checked the email owners name, Cathy is full of crap and should pay me for these damages and lies, even if she is doing this to get a refund its wrong and I don't work that way, why would I even give her a refund after she came here to try and ruin me and used fake emails as well as perhaps can hear and could have called me. I have decided to take her to court for this libel /slander.

I offered Cathy back most of her deposit and she then was very nice, saying she was trully sorry but like the woman above here said it does not help and would be a REWARD to someone who lied about me. Nobody will slander me and lie about me to ruin my business to get money out of me. I will now have to spend lots of cost if I decide to, to get this just to move down to save my reputation as a good business. I should not have to work my way to the top after 10 years due to one LIAR who for an unknown reason panicked. I was a victim of a rip off before and understand people do get ripped off but she had no reason to believe I was doing this. I spoke to her and did a sale just like I did the others, had I known she was deaf I would have sent her a letter due to an email failure. She did not inform me at all if I could contact her another way. 
I do not belive she is sorry at all but I would like to believe she is so that i would have some kind of closesure but I feel she only posted the good part to make herself look good and she wants nothing but money, she went about it the wrong way, she is using this site to get money out of me after changing her mind and going elsewhere and then wanting to wait again but yet putting me on here just barley when I even had a litter born as it was due in late Nov and then stating her mom passed away in late Nov as to why she could not email about my next litter but yet barley 2 weeks after this death she slanders me... how odd that she could not email me 2 weeks prior and she would have got a response from me.... perhaps she lied abbot her mom as well, had she not jumped to do this to me she would have EXPECTED her deposit in the mail that week and she knows it from the email I sent her asking for her address. Funny I get her Address after she slandered me, she feels I still owe her money after the slander.
I been nothing but a kind caring breeder for over 10 years and offer nothing but healthy wonderful cats, if someone comes here and lies about me they will get nothing but a lawsuit. I don't deal with these kinds of people.

I am also someone who got a kitten from this breeder and I was shown the wait list. Cathy was on it. I was on it also as well. I contacted most of the customers on it as well and what do you know they have a kitten.

I am now the owner of a nice kitten. I see that Cathy has did an apology to Mrs Kerns, that is nice of her to do this, it just don't make it all better and it looks so odd though all the sudden I guess she wants money very badly, after all maybe she needs christmas money refunds LOL.

If I was Mrs Kerns I would think long and hard about a refund to her. Why should she pay this HORRIBLE person for slandering her.

I used to be a breeder of pedigree cats as well and what most don't know is that when a mom is pregnant it can take up to 68 days to drop the litter and then it is another 3 months until they go to homes, so we have a total here of 5 months here if someone puts money down on a pregnant mom, if its on a live kitten then its much sooner, from what I see she had the money down in April and that was her choice to wait all the way until June and July for the litter to be born. I find this report very unjust.

I hope she screens her buyers from now on and maybe asks more questions but I am sorry she had to go through this, Cathy could have put this somewhere else then on this site, it will never be erased and that would make me furious.

Mrs kerns had the litter July first that I got my cat from. I hope that Heather does take this to court even if there was an agreement the breeder looks like she was bribed into sending back by writing in in a nice apologetic way.

Mrs Cathy running to another breeder without telling Heather she was not waiting was just wrong too, she said that Mrs Kerns did not say she would refund but then did on the new report , I guess getting her money back was so important that she admitted she lied. I hope it helps her this Holiday season

Heather and I have come to an agreement

Heather Kerns and I have come to agree that all of this has been a huge misunderstanding. With email the way it is, it is not a wonder more  problems arise. First, I would like to state that I made a typographical error  in the report. I was 5th on the waiting list as of April, not 4th.  It  is not Heather's fault that I cannot hear.  She told me had she known about my hearing earlier, she would have  done things differently.  I believe she truly works hard and did not intend  for any of this to happen.  If I could have just picked up the phone and  talked to her, we would have had alot less difficulty.  Heather did offer me a discounted kitten and on the 18th she offered to refund some of my deposit.  I truly apologize  to Heather for posting this report before we were able to come to an agreement.    From reading some of her other customers rebuttals, I see that she has  provided excellent customer service to her clients.  God Bless You Heather  and I pray for your future success.

Let Heather PROVE she sent me emails announcing the litters before I had to contact her numerous times.  Let Heather PROVE she sent me pictures of both litters.  Let Heather PROVE she offered me a refund.

Heather is not telling the whole story

I am glad you got your kitten.  I didn't.

Nobody I have talked to that received a kitten from either litter can provide me a copy of the email from Heather that includes my email address.  Don't you find that strange?

Heather is only cutting and pasting emails that make her look good.  There is no ragdoll running around without being neutered.  She does not have the whole story.

All I want is a kitten or a refund.

I am not a worker of the breeder but a customer who had nothing but great service and she was most certainly fast to get back to me, Heather had me on the same wait list as the lady named Cathy who reported her, this person must have not trusted her but that is no reason to say she ripped her off, not only I buut many others got a kitten because I seen the emails where she placed kittens in these two litters , its terrible to try and ruin someone that has been in practice for over 10 years and if the breeder was a con artist she would not be breeding.

I seen that CATHY bought another kitten and it was for out door mousing and was NOT NEUTERED so now I asume we have half bred ragdolls running around Virginia ?  If this were me I would not refund this lady at all for slandering me. If the lady was deaf it would be most easier for her to have her daughter phone the breeder if she felt worried about not getting a cat. Heather mostly comunicated with me on email but she did take calls. Aparenly from reading this I see that she was in a rush and bought another cat without telling the breeder. I say this because why would the breeder give me a cat as well as others but this one lady says she was offered nothing. It don't make sense.

Although my Nov litter for her did not work out I stated below that I would only sell to her if the cat was kept indoors, after this email she sent another stating again that she needed a "mouser' so from what I gather here if the new ragdoll was like the old one then I asume she would call it STUPID and it would run away. I have much nicer people getting a kitten in new litters I do not need her business and I want nothing more then for this to end. I just know now that I will have to break my own contract in order to REFUND her and that is wrong because of her not understanding the sales contract. It looks like a change of mind because she hurried and bought elsewhere. I have no reason to think other wise.

I underlined here below where I told her to contact me in late Nov if she did not hear from me at the end of that  month...had she knew that I was very busy with the hollidays coming and taking care of my dogs and that she ask me what was going on as I told her I needed her to do

so and she did not do so what so ever, the only email I got was that she was reporting me, she not once asked me if I had the litter yet but jumped to slander me instead after we were on good terms.

She is extreemly hard to deal with so I have decided her sale is over and I do not want to sell to her, its just very rude to ask for a non refundable deposit when I offered her 3 kittens, two of which I had to sell first but I still was holding 5th pick as long as I could. I may attach a pic of the kitten who I ended up keeping because he was the most laid back one I had ever seen. She claims she did not like him and I was ok with this but she did not even make an app. to see him and yet claims I was such a bad breeder rip off artist but yet she wanted to wait longer. I was very paiteint with her even through her putting a horrible label on me.

I should have never agreed to deal with her after Septemeber but I had given her the benifit of the doubt and thought she was a NORMAL buyer who trusted me and we perhaps were now seeing eye to eye. I would have never taken her deposit had I known she was untrusting of me. I offered refernces to her like I do all interested people if they wanted them.

when I contacted her on Dec 18th to state that I did not want her deposit after she sent a nasty email to me that I once again was ripping her off I had enough and told her I wanted her Address  'AGAIN' as I did not have it on file and whether or not she had lied about an outdoor cat I was done, she did not respond with the Address email but reported me here instead before I could eve get her Address. Its sad that someone would come here and fight for a deposit that they know is non refundable. I did offer her the 5th kitten but yet she said in a recnt email that she should have been able to pick a kitte out...sorry it don't work that way, I had others ahead of her.

I also asked for her Address  back in September because I was not sure I was selling to her but then gave it more thought. I had thought that I had no worries of her harrassing me again because we were on good terms and because I knew that I would either refund or place a kitten with her from the next litter, I explained that its an addoption process and sometimes nature does not always give us what we want and as a breeder I had no control over what a mom cat has or does not have. Going through all this now I will be much more careful of what type of customer I am dealing wiith.

It was clear that she did not care if an expensive cat ate mice and got sick from worms, what breeder would sell to her after this? But I also knew that people will say anything to get a non refundable deposit, although I wanted to complete the sale and have her wait for another kitten beacause she decided to wait. I could not deal with her anymore and decided it was over after her rude email on Dec 18th No prior email was sent to me since september.

For what ever reason I could not coppy the dates in a certain way but I have all actual emails, at the bottom it shows where she wanted another kiten, if she thought I was a bad breeder she would have never tried for another kitten after all the arguing she seemed to have realised that there was a misunderstanding. Nobody is perfect.

If  I had known she was hearing impaired I would have asked her for a number to contact someone else, she claims I could have wrote her a letter but I had no Address and even if I did I don't feel I should be penalized for not remembering a small detail about her that she was deaf..if she had told me at all which there is no email stating that she was at all. I had other customers so I cant see why she would expect me to remember something that I not even had record of on emails.

I have had nothing but kind customers and no probems. I have many emails to many customers PROVING that I always get back to them with in 48 hours at the very latest if not with in 24 hours. I sed updates every  to 10 days and I most certainly respond to all emails when I get them. 

Also she has a daughter that can hear but yet I never got a phone call.

Right after my last email to you I got an email report that I spamed and my whole cumputer rashed with a virus. I have to use my laptop now and iits very dificult to email and I cannot send any pics,. I would sure hope I was not reported by you as I feel I was not spaming you but only trying to explain why deposits are non refundable.

Now about the ragdoll breed, these cats do not chase mice and should not be out doors at all, did your other breeder not tell you this. I would only offer you another kitten if you agree to not let it outdoors unatended. The next litter is with Love potion and Dragonfly, they will be due late Nov I will email you the day they are born, if you don't hear from me in late Nov please
give me an email. I am trully sorry all this happened with lack of comunication, things do happen.

I have decided to take you  up on your offer of a discounted kitten from the new litter.  I don't like the looks of the one you showed me.  The other Ragdoll that I got ran away.  Didn't even get the stupid thing fixed yet and he went running off rather than staying in the back yard.  He wasn't much of a mouser either.  I hope you can come up with a better one to catch the mice.

I want to know when the new litter is due.  Do you really want me to email you every day?  That sounds a little ridiculous but I will if I have .

This was her email to me where I offered her another kitten from the Nov litter as well as I told her to email me more often as I stated I was worried about my emails...she was so fast to slander me. Again as I stated after this email above about the ragdoll running away... I gave it some thought and was going to refund her. I asked for her Address just yesterday. I will forward this email as well.

First of all I am surprised that this woman Cathy Mkgee gave her real name because what she speaks of is false and I have already spoke with my attorney on this matter.

I am the breeder she placed her 200.00 deposit with in mid April. I had two litters due in mid and late June and told her she would have a 5th pick kitten, there was 4 ahead of her on the first litter, I assumed she wanted one from the first litter but I did tell her I had a second litter due if perhaps there was no extra one in the first litter as a 5th pick, she states above that she has 4th pick but I will be sending emails shorty to this, there were going to be plenty of kittens and I had not said once that most were already sold, that is again false.

I had 5 kittens born in mid june and emailed everyone on my wait list who now ownS every kitten out of the two litters that were on the same wait list as her, for some reason my email to this woman did not get to her so I told her what I had
sent and that we had 5 kittens so she obviously knew she was getting one as she was on my deposit wait list and as it states on my contract deposit guarantees a kitten, all I needed from her was more correspondence as I as a breeder would be extremely busy I needed her to be patient as well because  I am offering live animals, everyone worked along with me in a normal timely manor. I corresponded with her about updates on plenty of emails  just like I did the others.

When I had my second litter in later June from what I knew she was getting all my emails I have at least 10-12 emails where we spoke about the litters so I was not avoiding her but I was extremely busisy with the others as well as her, she was not the only one getting a kitten, she began to rush the sale and the kittens were barley just weeks old yet. I can understand the excitement from customers but this was a bit odd. I never had to deal with someone like her. I was not aware that she could not hear and I cannot find any email from her telling me that she was. I also had told her that since my one email did not get to her that she should contact me more often and she said she would.  but did not. I have this email as well where she knew that there was a problem once before. I did not know that I would soon be shocked to know that she was looking for another cat and was about to say that I was ripping her off. I had kittens waiting to be looked at by her, time passed and I still had kittens a few weeks old. I thought she knew that of course she was still getting one.

Then out of the blue in early September I still had plenty of kittens here as well as her 5th pick kitten. She sent me a rude email stating that I broke the contract and she wanted a refund, all along here I was sitting holding the last kitten in the first litter for her as her 5th pick and I had two available from the second litter. I was busy placing the others from the second litter with the deposit wait list waiting to hear back from her, little did I kow sje was off slandering me to another breeder and gettig another kitten elsewhere.

When I did not hear from her I started to worry so I held an additional 2 from the second litter thinking she may have been up to something I wanted to be sure she had extra kittens which I never do this because they must go to homes
between 11 and 12 weeks old but at this time I did not find it too odd that she was not emailing me then the email that I stated above here said She claims I am ripping her off but I emailed her right away when I seen this and told her that she got back to me almost 3 months later and that I had 5th pick for her here and stating that I was very confused that she thought she was not getting a kitten.

 I have proof on email that I sent her pics of the nice male kitten I had for her.  if she had not liked the kitten I would have offered another one but she said that she had one already, she then blamed me for not emailing her but yet she never emailed me at all and I told her before that at least one if not two emails went to my spam I have AOL so I figured this was the case and I did not have her phone number but when she said she was deaf I could not have called her anyway

I am EXTREEMLY UPSET that I now have to deal with her lies and be posted on here when I knew nothing about how she felt !
when I showed her a pic of the 5th kitten I had to offer and she said that she already bought a kitten from another breeder but yet I was never told that she wanted off my wait list, the 5th pick male kitten was already 8 weeks old by this time and had no home because she did not email me until sept stating that she already bought one because I was ripping her off, she said she waited too long to get a cat but the litters were born in mid June and late June and were not even ready to go until late Sept so she would get a kitten until then anyway so there was no reason for her to say I was taking too long and she had no reason to buy another kitten when her money was down on my cattery, she even states in an email that she got the new cat earlier then Sept because it was a gift for her husband but in April she told me that the kitten she was going to get was for herself for retirement. I have every email of her and going over it still does not make sense to me.

After we argued back and fourth I was reported for spamming and my whole computer crashed just minutes after arguing with her. I understand that it may have not been her but I can have an opinion that I feel she did it but after this just about a week later she emailed me with a totally nice attitude and said that her "STUIPD"  new ragdoll kitten ran away and it was an out door cat, she also told me he was bought for the catching of mice which I was in shock because the ragdoll is an expensive indoor only cat that barley even chases bugs, she then wanted a new kitten from me and said she would wait until
the next litter, after all her harsh words about suing me for everything I own I was going to still give her a kitten as a breeder I was extremely busily as I breed dogs for working and family pet, time passed and I told her the litter
was due in Nov she not once emailed me to keep in touch and again she blamed me for not emailing her but yet I am the one working hard to give not just her but others an opportunity to own a pet ragdoll.

I was holding the last 5th kitten for her waiting to hear from her but in Sept I was then attacked by her and was not even given enough time to tell about the late Novemeber litter because as soon as I was about to do so I was attacked again and reported.

I figured she understood she could get one still because my last email said she could how is this me not getting back to her when I most certainly did and have emails to prove it.

I decided on a half refund of her deposit,on this occasion I felt it was the right thing to do because I could not sell to her after she stated she had a ragdoll run away. 

She states that I avoided her but then why were my other wait list customers happy with my FAST serivice? It was because these were very ATTENTITIVE people who kept in touch with me as they knew how much a breeder works to make everyone happy.

As I thought back about what she said about her ragdoll that  her new kitten was an outdoor mouser and was "STUPID"
then I said to myself why would I sell to her. I must be nuts. I would never place a kitten with someone like this I decided to refund her.

Just yesterday after her nasty email I had told her once again why I felt she was in the wrong but I then sent her an email
to ask what her Address was to get her some money back but I did not get an Address.... instead I get a new email from a made up name stating that I was put on this site. I had to block her other email due to her bothering me, she seems
to forget that she had a 5th pick kitten here and two others that I would have told to her and  yet I was about to send her 100.00 back and told her this in email but I stated that it was completely unfair due to that I was holding the kitten for her. She did nothing but blame me and twist this all around.

I don't deserve to be put on a rip off site and yes we did fight back and fourth because she not I broke the contact I had to find the 5th kitten a home again because she said already bought one, that was why deposits are never refunded, these are growing living animals and must go to good homes, the deposit guarantees that the kitten will not be resold unless change of mind which is not something I can control.

I have been a breeder for 10 years and have over 150 references along with the others on the same wait list as her that all got a kitten from me and would have called me or if hard of hearing would have someone call me to be sure that they were getting a kitten instead of jumping fast to slander me. I don't understand why she thought she was not getting a kitten. I
am seriously thinking of contact my attorney  because of this slander. I can understand coming to this site to tell the honest truth if someone is being ripped off but this was totally false and I can't see why she thought this of me.

I have done nothing but offer great kittens for 10 years now and never had to deal with this, this person is now lying about me and judging me.  She even made a fake email as stated above and pretended to be an unhappy customer which is very wrong because I had nothing but great reviews and its sad that this person wants to try and damage my years of making people happy with this breed.

She knows that she does not have a case so she had to bring it here I will not allow her to do this and will be speaking with my lawyer.

I offered her her refund and all I got was an email ful of lies and put on here.

Even if she cannot hear she must have friends or family that could have contacted me if a few of my emails did not get to her that is something I should not be penalized for. She even said that she would keep in touch with me by emailing frequently as I told her to do so because I had others ahead of her to place kittes with and was also working to get those people there kittens but I got no emails from her after 9/29/11 and now the first one yesterday that was nothing but rude. People will leave a deposit at cattiers and then change there mind and go elsewhere perhaps for lower prices but its wrong to try and get a cost back. It is very frivols and unfair to the breeder and the kitten.

I feel she changed her mind and now is trying to get the deposit back, like I said these are living animals that once a deposit is down, breeders do not except anymore because the deposit means a kitten is gauranteed a home. I had two litters here and she states that I sold them which is horrible to  come here and lie like this. It should  not be the innocent cats fault that I have to find a new home for them because she thought wrong of me. I have proof that I was sending back
half her deposit since we were so strongly about being in the right. I guess she does not want her deposit back but instead to slander me. I feel no matter what I do she will still see it her way. She does not understand contracts and that these are live animals.
