My Daughter and Son in Law had a home built by Help You Build of America Inc. It was supposed to be completed by October 8th. 2001. It was running 3 months late and no work was being done on the home. Doors, Windows, and Appliances were being stolen from the house daily. They were renting another home at a $1000.00 a month rate and was already starting to pay (Four Payments) on the house being built. Their furniture was also in storage at $900.00 a month.

Feeling up against the wall, and no completion date in sight, They hired a lawyer to see if we could force the completion of the house. The builder claimed the house was 95 % complete and wanted his final payment and stopped work on the house. Talking with other people he had built for; they said, he took their last payment and has not finished their houses.

They went for mediation which is required before you can sue. They are unable to disclose what results were agreed to at the mediation. They had sub-contractors liens against the house for unpaid subcontractors, also it had been agreed all appliances would be purchased by them to be reimbursed by the contractor at settlement.

The poor workmanship of the home is way to numerous to go into here. It is costing $1500 just to complete the landscaping required by the home owners association. They can supply over 100 pictures of screw ups if desired. They paid $300.00 for an independent inspector report for the mediation. They figure it will take $10,000__to finish the house and $4000.00 for the lawyer. This is a $395,000 -- incomplete Home.

Steve Anderson was working under David Grays license in Brevard, and was refused a license of his own. Beware, he may talk someone else with a license to building under his license.
