i applied at this dealership to work there after receiving excellent reviews from former employers and a friend who WORKS AT THIS DEALERSHIP. went in for an interview with the manager and was told he would get back to me. never called or answered my calls. i later found out he wasn't going to hire me because i "wasn't a good fit."
awfully ironic that just two days later they hired a former coworker of mine that is 20 years younger than me! and have hired other young salesmen since then! awfully funny that i walked in with over five years of experience and great referrals left and right, but they don't hire me. then they turn around and hire a bunch of young guys that don't have any referrals or years of experience.
this is simply age discrimination at its finest. won't hire the "old guy" but will hire a bunch of young kids who have no experience and just want to screw over their customers.

Or perhaps you told the interviewer your opinion on how to do his job. My experience is that dealers like to hire newbys. They can pay them less and train them in exactly the way that the dealership likes to market cars. I doubt seriously that your age was a factor. You are probably overqualified and knowledgeable on how much money you are worth to the company. This is why you were a poor fit.
