Hertz Car Rental PlatePass Hertx passes on PlatePass invoice for falsified toll charge with added administrative fees Madison Tennessee

This report is to detail the scam that is ran jointly by Hertz Car Rental, and PlatePass toll services. Summary is that PlatePass creates errors that place toll charges to vehicles that have NEVER been in the area of the tool location; and Hertz not only passes these fraudulent billings forward to the customer, but ADDS their administrative profit to the scam!

I rented a vehicle from Hertz out of Madison TN, on 7/5/2016 after 8AM. I drove this vehicle to Easley SC and stayed there until the morning of 7/7/2016 at 8:15AM.

I stopped for fuel at a gas station on Smokey Park Hwy in Asheville NC to place fuel in the rented Hyundai Santa Fe at 9:43AM Eastern time. I returned the car to the Madison TN location later that day (2:40PM Central).

Less than 50 minutes later, PlatePass states that my rented Hyundai passed thru a toll booth in Harris County TX at 9:43AM Central time, and that this visit was recorded by a picture of the license plates of the car.

I do not believe even a military emergency transport type of arrangement could get this Hyundai Santa Fee from Asheville NC to Harris CO TX in less than 50 minutes! Never mind returning it to Madison TN from there, in less than 5 hours....

I am obviously protesting this charge, but PlatePass and Hertz make it extremely difficult to get the charges removed. Although I have substantial proof that I could not have been in Harris County TX at the dates in question, PlatePass will not acknowledge that they have any faults that create these fraudaluent billings.

THis can be no less than criminal fraud; creating documentation that falsely places a car thousands of miles away, for the purpose of billing charges and administrative fees, and providing the victim with no proof of the allegations and no sastisfactory way to submit proof to the contrary; and with the further threat of blacklisting the vistim from further rentals with that company unless charges are paid promptly, is truly criminal.

Watch your credit cards! PlatePass makes errors, either totally incompentant, or criminal...and Hertz will pass these charges on with their OWN administrative fees to cash in on the scam.
