Higbee and Associates Extremely poor service and incorrect legal advice Chicago and Los Angeles Internet

I made the mistake of hiring this firm and payment $250 or the $500 for legal assistance in clearing my daughters misdemeanor shoplifting convinction from her record when she was 19.  She is now 26, a college graduate and living on her own with no issues for seven years.  We did not want this mistake following her forever.  I went on the website and following the prompts on HIGBEE and ASSOCIATES website was advised that she would be eligible for EXPUNGEMENT in ILLINOIS.  We paid two installments of $125 each towards the $500 fee.  We waited two months for the attorney to process the case.  NOTHING HAPPENED.  I provided the attorney and her assistant in Chicago, IL the information on the case, and actually had to print off the material from the local court because the attorney could not get it.  This was from a PUBLIC WEBSITE.

 Finally, two months later after several emails and phone calls, with NO return calls from HIGBEE I was told that my daughter was not eligible for Expungment or Sealing of her record.  I was told that they could take the information off the internet if we paid another $70.00.  However, my daughter would have to wait at least another year before they could do anything.  Keep in mind that this is after I was told that she was eligible and paid the $250.00 and several phone calls to HIGBEE were unanswered.

 I hired a local attoreny who told me that my daughters record could be sealed.  The fee charged by the local attorney is $600.  However, I am out the $250 I paid HIGBEE and did not pay the remaining $250 they wanted.  I will be filing a complaint with the Illinois Bar Association and the Illinois Department of Licensing and Regulation against HIGBEE.
