To whom it may concern,

Having just recently been able to get a Florida drivers' license (after 5 years of not driving) {and yes, that is a long story for another day}, I decided it was time to buy a car. Now, living below the poverty line for the last 6 years (in my business, if you can't drive, you're no good to anyone), put a real limit on what I could spend on anything, so I looked at "buy here, pay here" used auto dealers, and found one that had vehicles that I felt were reasonably priced. That dealer was High-Q Auto sales, & the car I chose was a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country Touring edition minivan. That was three weeks ago. Took it for a spin, it seemed ok, bar a few minor (so I thought) issues, which I mentioned to my salesman. Went back to the lot, and started the paperwork.

Now, Remember, I went to them specifically because their website claims "they can finance anyone, guaranteed" . Kept getting told they were having a difficult time financing me. Price of the vehicle was 8,777.00. I came in with a 2,000.00 cash deposit.THEY fraudulently took another 1,000.00 out of my husband's bank account (we gave them his debit card for insurance, $364.00 ONLY!). Vehicle had a couple of problems; i.e. the transmission slips slightly, going from second to third gear, & the tires were BALD! They assured me that would all be corrected. Once I signed the paperwork, they actually LAUGHED at me, told me tough s**t, if I wanted it corrected, then I had to pay more. I have already paid 3,000.00 down, on an 8000.00 car.

Yes, one of the bits of the mountain of paperwork said "as-is", but my sales rep told me "no problem, they would take care of me", and that Carfax's guarantee would protect me. He lied! Regardless, they handed me the keys, and sent me on my way, saying "c'mon, don't sweat the small details". I trusted them. Dumb, dumb me!

In the meanwhile, the new finance manager had me jumping through hoops (like a trained seal at the circus),
trying to "find financing". Said I was rejected by all, except for a "friend of his who owed him a favor". Now, keep in mind this is three weeks in, I have the car, they have my cash, but I have no "deal", only temporary plates, and can't register the vehicle. Luckily, we were able to insure it. So, anyway, back to his friend. He said,"he could finance me, BUT, my payments would be 436.00 per month, and I had to open up a checking account specifically for this purpose, and had to give them the debit card from the account, so THEY could withdraw the $436.00 payment each month" Now, at this point, we have gone from $329.00, to 389.00 to 416.00, to now 436.00 per month, times 48 months. O.k., now YOU do the math!

The interest is way more than the principle, the balance after the deposits is only 5,777.00. Even at a high interest rate, that would still pay me off over two years. That leaves two full years of this payment, going to interest! That is outrageous, not to mention usurious! So, I said "no deal, try again!".

In the interim of this, I received a little "surprise" in the mail, a "welcome package" from Credit Acceptance Corp., a company that the dealer said denied me. Three days later, I get my payment coupon booklet in the mail. So, I call them on the phone. Verify that yes, the financing is valid, my account number is live, my payments are 389.00 a month for 48 months. Call the dealer back, and ask for an explanation. Was told, "NO, that can't be right, we haven't gotten our check". I told him, that wasn't my problem, and could I please have my license plate, because the temporary paper one has expired, and I want this to be over. Meanwhile, now, the DRIVER'S WINDOW has now died as well. Also, the car is now shutting itself OFF, in the middle of driving. No warnings, no noises or roughness, it just goes KAPUT, and quite randomly. Just lovely, in our wonderful southflorida traffic jams!

So, now to the present, dealer says NO WAY to credit acceptance, claim it was a mistake, and that I had to take their in-house final offer, or else! So, I declined their less than pleasant offer, and called C.A.C. again. Now, the lady I spoke to this time said that "the dealer has the right to decline the financing at any time, and it looks like that has occurred". Today, I get a text stating "return the vehicle" , to which I say "I will not drive a car with expired tags, so, bring me a new plate, AND my now 3,000.00 cash deposit, plus the almost 400.00 for repairs (done at THEIR shop), then you may take your vehicle.Three hours later, I get another Text from them:"bring back our vehicle NOW, and THEN we'll discuss whether you get ANY of your money back or NOT!!"

Meanwhile, from the first second we stepped through that door, My Husband and I encountered much hostility, anti-gay slurs, etc., from numerous members of the staff, including, I believe, the boss talking to another staff member about just wanting to "get rid of these two faggots who are clogging up his showroom" (spouse and i are both large , rather masculine men, Awfuly presumptuous of them to dtermine our relationship status). Scary!

So,as of now; we have a car we can't drive, no financing unless we take this usurious loan, and a dealer that refuses to return our cash deposit! Quite frankly, I am a bit fearful of going in there again due to that hostility! I just want ALL of my money back. Every person there, that I have dealt with has been dishonest. From the salesman, to both of the finance managers, to the owner. I have been treated with disrespect, been ignored (it literally takes DAYS to receive a return phone call), and have encountered outright hostility. I just want my FULL refund, the transaction cancelled (with PAPERWORK showing it cancelled, and Florida DMV notified that I no longer have the car), and to just finally be finished with this nightmare! They have NO right to keep my deposit!
