Letter is obviously a scam, and includes a 'real' cashiers check in the amount of $4,885.00, like most other reports here; however, since "Holiday World Travel" has not been mentioned, this way this scam will show up under that name as well.

Letter reads:

RE: AWARD WINNING NOTIFICATION

Congratulations on your success as one of the winners of North American Utilities deaw held on Monday September 24, 2007. Participants were selected through a computer ballot system, drawn from 149,000 telephone numbers and utilities bills of the individuals who sign up for the services. Your ticket number: 2545, with the serial number LR-757 emerged as one of the winning tickets. You have therefore been awarded a lump sum pay out of $46,500.00USH cash, which is the winning payout for the series. This is from total prize money of $25,234,000.00 shared among the winners.

Our firm has secured for, the percentage surcharge to be paid as commission on your winning prize to the Lotto Regulatory Board, saving you the trouble. The check for $4,885.00 USD enclosed covers the charges/fees required to be paid, prior to receiving your winning. Keep winning confidential until your prize money is received to avoid multiple claims.

Please call your payment coordinator, Mrs. Elizabeth Miller or Mr. Robert Steer at 1-902-412-2784 as soon as you receive this notice to assist you in finalizing the payment process.
Congratulations!

Regards,

Mrs. ROCKLYN BEN
Director Public Relations.

-----
Please note the grammatical errors in the document, as they are not my typos, but theirs. The 'check' is drawn from First State Bank in Mesquite Texas, with a purchaser name of "Amanda Miller".

If anyone else receives these checks, keep in mind the scam: They send you the 'money' and ask you to deposit it and send them the 'fees'. You deposit the check, send them the fees, and the check comes back a bit later as bogus. If you fall for it, you're out the 'fees' which could also be called the "Lack of Common Sense Tax". :)

Seriously folks... If it's too good to be true, IT IS. If you didn't enter the sweepstakes, you didn't win. And yes, if you cash the check on your account, spend the money or send it to the scammers - once the check bounces, YOU will be liable for the money, no one else.
