I just returned from a cruise on Holland America's Eurodam. I have been on a few cruises, but never with HAL prior to this. I have never seen so many old people in my life. When I say old, I don't mean 50s, 60s, or even low 70s. I'm talking upper 70s and up.

Why does this matter? It matters because the entire ship shuts down at 9 pm. There is very little evening entertainment and absolutely no night time entertainment.

Ok, that's one thing. How about the rest of the day? Forget it. These people are not sweet, little old ladies and gentlemen. These people are the grumpiest, most demanding and self entitled people on the planet. 2000 80-90 year olds on one ship is a recipe for disaster. All they do is whine and complain and talk about how much better HAL is than all the world's other cruise lines. Yea, ok. If boring is better, it's all theirs.

If you are under 75 and considering HAL, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Then again, if you are in your 60s and want to feel young, go for it.
