  • Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center 1300 Vermont Ave. Los Angeles, California U.S.A.

Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center; & Mail Handlers Benefit Plan Pursuant to a complicated Heart attack, I moved my late wife across Vermont Ave. to the Hollywood Pres.Med.Center. Due to the emergency the ins. co.,MHBP, on 2 Jan arranged with the hospital financial counselor to allow PPO rates. I agreed and fully paid the "Maximum out-of-pocket" by Apr. 2008. 90 days from our agreement the hospital took steps to force me to pay almost $15K. This is documented. Los Angeles California

NY eve 2007 my late wife was taken to a hospital across the street from the Motel where we were staying. It was a large facility, but not a PPO as was another hospital, Kaiser, 1 block away.

On 2 January, an arrangement was made between the hospital and my insurance company to allow the Network rate, because of the emergency rather than to risk the move. I agreed to pay the maximum amount, over several months. I had paid in full by April.

90 days later, the hospital with the cooperation of the insurance company decided to break our agreement and charge me over four times the amount of out original agreement. This is a difference of almost $10K. I have not only the statement of the financial counselor at the hospital, but statements on the back of the checks that were presented and endorsed and the advice of my attorneys that the dispute should be between the insurance company and the hospital, not myself. In the meantime my credit has been ruined by the hospital's collection agency. They do not negotiate or communicate with me.

How could I get a report issued on this. I does not seem right to just break an agreement. Please help,

I have found a way to send documented Proof of the rip-off by the hospital, HPMC, to Experian. This has included Letters and cashed checks for the amount of the original agreement. Hopefully, they will decide to play fair.
