I am a professional contractor. I used Service Magic in 2005.
It was awful. I lost money with their poor system.
I was contacted by a Home Advisor salesperson, and was told the new company was much better.
CAUTION, CAUTION, CAUTION, Home Advisor is worse.  The only people making money is H.A.    All of my 38 leads in the past 6 months were shopping around, already gave the job away or were contacted for an estimate the day before I received the lead. The leads are sometimes bogus. Also H.A. receives funds from my credit card whether I do the job or not. It is simply an advertising company.
Here is my status. 38 leads my total cost is $2,174.98. My total income is $340.00 Good for Home Advisor, bad for my business.
