I am a disabled, decorated Vietnam veteran. I recently bought a home and my broker suggested Home Buyer's Warranty VI for one year coverage on the property. I had this home and two others inspected by a certified Florida inspection company. All of these homes were put through a very detailed inspection.  ALL systems in these homes were checked thoroughly. The home I purchased came through with flying colors. The only major  difficulties were that the toilets needed new internal flushing components and the pool filter was leaking. The inspector said due to the cold weather we were having that day, he couldn't get an accurate reading on the air conditioning outlet temperature. We told him we would  come back at a later date to see, if it indeed, was cooling. The inspector commented how quiet the air conditioning was and cold only be heard running in the garage. The system ran for a few hours that day and on other days and the thermostat showed a reading of 77 degrees with the outside temperature of around 85 degrees

The main reason I bought the home owner's policy was for that very reason. The house had not been lived in for a unknown period of time and I did not want to have air conditioning problems. This same inspection company I had always gave very detailed reports with many photos. Problem areas were singled out and noted in red on the report as  such was the case on a house I looked at on 1/14/2012. The inspector called me into the garage to look at corrosion on the air conditioning coils. Due to that fact, I did not buy the house. The owner said he would replace the ENTIRE ac system if I would agree to buy it-the answer was still NO. I did not want air conditioning problems. That house was $159,000.

Home Buyers is saying that the system WAS NOT WORKING when I bought it which is a total falsehood. I did not spend hundreds of dollars on inspections just to buy a home with defective air. Being a 100% disabled veteran, I also had to pay to have a VA inspector look at the house. He would approve the loan until the pool filter leak was repaired.

Home Buyers says I should have had a licensed HVAC technician look at it-why? It was working fine and very quietly. I didn't have a plumber come out and tell me the water heater was operating properly, or a roofer to tell me the roof was fine. They certainly deserve to come under the heading of a rip off, because they truly are. They are scam artists and need to be stopped. I was a victim of detrimental reliance and fraudulent inducement. I relied on their phony promises.
