I bought a General Electric Power Vent Hot Water heater from Home Depot, Edmonton, Alberta in Nov. 2007. On October 12, 2008, the thing QUIT wokring. I contacted GE @ 1 800 431 1549. they sent me out the parts to repair the thing one piece at a time. After 4 (FOUR) complete weeks with out hot water and replacing every part in this peice of JUNK. I have decided to buy another brand and to NEVER BUY anything GE from here on out in my life. They do stand up to their warranty and do not care about the customer or the junk that they produce. All they want is to rip off the consumer with Mexican produced junk and put the screws to the buying consumer.

LET ME SAY I AM STATING WHAT HAPPENS IN THE USA. I BELIEVE IT IS THE SAME IN CANADA. FIRST THE POWER VENT HAS A 1 YEAR WARRANTY 100% ON THE TANK, LABOR AND PARTS. THE TANK IS A SIX YEAR WARRANTY AFTER 1 YEAR PARTS ARE COVERED BUT NOT THE LABOR TO INSTALL THEM. HOWEVER YOU WERE COVERED COMPLETELY IF THE DATES YOU LISTED ARE CORRECT. YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAD THEM SEND YOU PARTS FOR SELF INSTALL. YOU SHOULD HAVE DEMANDED WHAT THE WARRANTY CALLS FOR, A COMPLETE SERVICE CALL.

NOW IF YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT OR SOME OTHER PROOF OF PURCHASE C/CARD CHECK ETC THEN TAKE THE DEFECTIVE BACK WITH THE RECEIPT AND THEY HAVE TO REFUND YOUR MONEY, IN FULL.
IF NOT GET THE STORE MANAGER, DO IT ON A WEEKDAY BECAUSE IF HE HAS TO CALL COMPANY YOU WILL NOT GET THEM ON A SATURDAY.

REMEMBER THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE AND HE WHO YELLS THE LOUDEST GETS HEARD FIRST..
